Pure Lv 6 Hieroglyph Build

My first Hieroglyph build for the March 2012 format. I have been play-testing this build for quite awhile recently and one thing is for sure, this deck is capable of OTK-ing very quickly. But I am sure many of you who actually played a Hieroglyph deck will know that the biggest flaw of this deck is its consistency issue.

I did not run Hieroglyph Seal of the Divine Dragon unlike most Hieroglyph builds simply because I did not have Ennead at the time when I built this deck. I only had Atumus and Gaia Dragoons so I decided to form a pure level 6 Xyz build; turns out it is also as deadly as other builds because of the infamous - 2x Atumus (overlay to Gaia) + 1x Gustaph Max + another monster (which is pretty easy to pull off).

Here's the build:-

Monsters - 22
----------------
3x Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon
3x Hieroglyph Dragon - Tfeni Dragon
3x Hieroglyph Dragon - Aset Dragon
3x Hieroglyph Dragon - Shiyu Dragon
2x Hieroglyph Dragon - Nephthe Dragon
2x Tragoedia
2x Wattdragon
1x Prime Material Dragon
1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
1x Delta Flyer
1x Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning

Spells - 9
------------
3x Hieroglyph Seal of Gathering
2x Night Shot (just trying out this card for the fun of it)
1x Monster Gate
1x Monster Reborn
1x Book of Moon
1x Heavy Storm

Traps - 9
-----------
2x Call of the Haunted
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
2x Torrential Tribute
2x Solemn Warning
1x Solemn Judgment

Some interesting tech cards which most Hieroglyphs do not run would be Delta Flyer and Prime Material Dragon. As I do not need to run the Lv 8 balls, I decided to tech in these 2 cards. Delta Flyer is a Level 3 tuner which can add 1 Level to any other monster on the field. As most monsters are Level 6, it gives the deck instant access to Trident Dragion. (Although this deck has already its own OTK engine, 1 more OTK option is not that bad; Trident Dragion is also Level 10...more Gustaph Max fun) Prime Material Dragon, on the other hand, actually replaced Lightpulsar Dragon (Kudos to fellow teammate for giving me this suggestion). Turns out it is much better than Lightpulsar as he got a built in "Destruction Jammer" which comes in handy incase OTK failed. His second effect, which is anti-burn decks is also awesome. Do not need to fear of Chain Burn decks as you just need to summon Atumus and bring Prime Material Dragon out. Chain burn decks will probably get stuck for awhile until they find a way to get rid of him like a Lava Golem or something. However be careful when you summon this guy, you don't want to heal your opponent for 2000 LP just by carelessly going into Gustaph while this guy is on the field.

All and all, this is an interesting build which I had fun with for quite awhile. I am going to reform this deck as I recently pulled Ennead from buying some packs. I might be tech-ing in Card Car Ds in the new build for more draw power. (I do not like Super Rejuvenation)

Conclusion, this is not a good deck IMO. (An inconsistent deck is a bad deck to me) But for anyone who wants to try to play Hieroglyphs without the Seal (Trolololol), this should be interesting. It is also possible to summon 2 Gustaph Max in one turn with Sacred Ptolemys Messier 7, just for the pure joy of having two Rank 10s on the field. :)
Hieroglyph Dragon King - Atumus
"One hell of a scary card."

Full Yen Econ Tournament Report (25/02/12)

Today's tourney as seen by me. Learned quite a lot from today's experience.

Pre-tourney: Found out Sebastian was my first opponent. Divine Intervention isn't it? Considering I've entered the YT tourney 4 times and 3 times I've matched up against him. Rofl.

Judges: Jiyeon, Eustace

Match 1: Empty Jar (Hakim) vs E-Heroes (Sebastian)
Win-Lose-Win

Game 1: I think I set a Deep Diver first and ended. His turn I think he summoned Stratos or Alius or something and rammed my Deep Diver. He checks the effect because its new to him and I show him I top deck Morphing Jar, which at the point he realizes I'm playing an Empty Jar deck. Drew, set Morphing Jar, Taiyou- got countered by Effect Veiler but then chained Book of Eclipse and proceeded to victory.

Game 2: Bad hand. Couldn't do much. Sebastian beat me down and controlled with Shock Ruler.

Game 3: Fun stuff. He summoned Honest first and hit me. Then I set like 2 cards and ended. His turn, he summoned Stratos, search Alius, then he had Stratos, Alius and Honest on the field. I was around half my lifepoints at that point so when he attacked with Stratos, I used Super Poly on his Alius and Stratos to summon E-HERO The Shining, like a boss. He got mind blown. Then, he used Compulsory Evac to bounce it and whack with Honest. So much win. Drew and proceeded to victory.

After the match, I began feeling like I was burning up. Don't think it was the weather, maybe just nervousness. But even now I feel like its still in on me.

Match 2: Empty Jar (Me) vs Some E-Hero deck
Win-Win

Game 1: IIRC, he had one Stratos and 2 or 3 set cards. When I flipped up Morphing Jar, he used Super Poly to summon E-Hero Gaia. But I just used Feather of the Phoenix to top deck it and win the next turn.

The guy had no side deck.

Game 2: Pretty much won.

My body continues overheating. Was I cursed? Couldn't stand it. Needed water.

Match 3: Empty Jar (Me) vs Lightsworn (Yoong Kang)
Win-Win

Game 1: Kinda won easily because of the right hand.

Game 2: I was doing the stun and all but then I got countered by an Effect Veiler and I had no counter or Book of Eclipse/Moon. Surprisingly. I still continued the stun anyway and won.

Becoming very hot and shaky. Difficult to focus and play.

Match 4: Empty Jar (Me) vs Laval (Poh Seng)
Win-Lose-Win

Played very slowly because of my current condition.

Game 1: He used Sweltering Heat Trasmission Wave (which is pretty much double foolish burial) to mill like 5 cards instantly. He ended his turn with Card Car D. Mind Blown. I kept stalling for time until he had like only half his deck left. Then I proceeded to winning. Along the way, he asked me the effects of my cards and I was rather surprised he didn't know.

Game 2: Bad hand. I think my Morphing Jar was around the bottom of my deck and I couldn't get searchers. I realized that I should use Prohibition to stop D.D. Crow from removing my cards. Kept stalling for time but got owned by Ancient Flamvell Deity, Stardust and Black Rose Dragon.

Game 3: Wow. I really managed to pull through here. I don't really recall entirely but It took me a couple of turns and a few beatings but I managed to OTK him.

Match 5: Empty Jar (me) vs Inzector (Wesley)
Lose-Lose

Game 1: Deep Diver got bombed but in this game, I stalled LIKE A BOSS. I think I activated One Day of Peace like 5 or 6 times? Till Wesley had like one card left in his deck. You know, he kept bombing all this cards and even used Torrential Tribute and Heavy Storm on himself. That's kind of an accomplishment. However, he eventually set up a new field and owned me because I dropped Swift Scarecrow the turn before.

Game 2: Lost. Bad. I kept stalling for time but I realized I could win. So yeah, he has like 5 cards left in his deck, I set and taiyou a needleworm- Effect veiler- book of eclipse- fiendish chain- book of eclipse- effect veiler. Shit. Lost from there, but I could have won from the Book of Eclipse by themselves because Wesley would draw himself to death. I think I'll let this one slide because I wasn't in good health at this point.

Overall I'm OK with this because Wesley used to play Empty Jar back when Book of Moon was at 3, so guess he has good experience with it and how to counter. And he's a nice guy, so its cool.

Overall, a very good experience in the tournament. Apparently, everyone who has Effect Veiler mains it and everyone sides in D.D. Crow. I think I may have misplayed by not using Prohibition on D.D. Crow as well. I also may consider maining Prohibition because of Effect Veiler.

Another thing I learned is that in the US, Empty Jar decks run Tour Guide of the Underworld because it is a lot more effective than Deep Diver. I should seriously put it in if possible because of today's Inzectors. But really, this deck is like $50-75 and probably one of the most budget decks in Yugioh, asides the foils-only. So do I really wanna pay $500 just for this? Obviously not. Though it'll be cool if I ever won the next tourney.

Also, a lot of people keep activating Solemn Warning and Torrential Tribute in response to Morphing Jar but I keep telling them they can't because it is NOT a flip summon but just a flip or battle position change. I also had to convince Sebastian and Jiyeon that when I had 4 set cards and then Book of Taiyou, I can chain Book of Eclipse AFTER because once the effect resolves, I have an open slot to chain. Its quite troubling because I feel like no one trusts or they don't agree with what I know. I mean, I've played this deck for a while so I try to know everything about my deck. So I hope people in the future understand this.

End of Tournament Report.

Full Yen Non-Ranking Tourney Report (25/2/12)

Double-Elimination
Number of Participants: 14?
Deck used: Lightlord aka Lucksack Deck.

Judge: Jiyeon/Eustace??

Seeing how the March Banlist has given me another summoner, I decided to take out the deck again and see if Lady Luck favours me.

Once again, I am trying to do a decent report. If any mistakes with the report, please correct me. (I have a bad memory)

Round 1 vs Pei Ming (Infernity) OO-

Game 1: Looks like maining 2 D.D crow was the right thing.I crowed Archfiend and got some insane mill. I ended up with five lightlords. On his next turn, he got a AOJ Catastor, I just syn to Brionac and xyz to Number 17: Leviathan Dragon. I just push from there.

Game 2: He soul-release my Lightlord cards. I next turn drew a Judgement Dragon. I was like.........
I also forgot how I won that round

Round 2 vs Ying Jun (Inzektors) XX-

(This is a very bad match-up)

Game 1: He swarmed in the speed of light and I cannot do shit. What am I supposed to do if he got veiler and I am so dumb to think that he got a demon chain set face-down when it is a call of the haunted? I had taken 7900 LP worth of damage and I just literally scrub the next turn.

Game 2: Despite successfully getting rid of this Dimensional Fissure, due to bad hand and fear of Centipede. I misplayed badly (with him saying that I minus myself badly as well) and I lost from there.

Round 3 vs Ben (Ultimate Offering Gadgets) OO-

Game 1: Friendly exchange of blows, with me kick-starting the game with by using velier on his gadget. I kind of forgot how I won from there.

Game 2: Chain summoning with limiter and gadget effect. What a chain! Upon receiving a direct attack, I dropped a Gorz. My Judgement Dragon hits the field with a bang on the next turn. Push from there.

(Actually, at the mid-point of game 2, Eustace said that both Ben and I are already qualified for the top 8 as there are some people with 2 loses in a row but both of us insisted on playing till the end as it was so fun. And there is no way we will give up a game like that.)

Top 8 (Single Elimination)

Round 4 vs Hakim (Empty Jar) XX-

Game 1: Tried to veiler his morphing jar but he just Book of Eclipse it.My hand was clean while his hand is right and I just died to not being able to draw.

Game 2: Once again, his usual stuns with veiler in sight for me while no book is in my way. My Crowing of his Book of Eclipse came too late. Once more, I died to not being able to draw. How am I supposed to side-decked against that kind of deck! I had already mained 2 D.D crow and 2 effect veiler in my deck. What else can I do?

Congrats to Hakim for hitting top 2.

End of Report;

Jay Wong.

Card Review: Photon Streak Bouncer

The new Rank 6 Xyz monster which is released in the Galactic Overload set is not to be messed with. Let us take a look at the stats of this card:-

Rank 6 [Light]
Warrior/Xyz/Effect
ATK/2700 DEF/2000

2 Level 6 monsters
Once per turn, when a monster your opponent controls activates its effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate that effect, and inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.

One hell of a boss card, even his picture looks badass, no? All right, let's discuss more on his effect. First off, he is a 2700 attack on field Effect Veiler. And secondly, he burns for 1000 damage after negating his target's effect! I would actually liked it better if he negates and DESTROYS the target instead, but hell, that would make him real boss and probably kinda broken. With many decks nowadays all running on lots of monster effect, Photon Streak Bouncer would probably be a pain in your opponent's ass. Inzektor Dragonfly effect? Negate! Black Rose nuke field? Negate! With 2700 attack points, running over him is also quite difficult. Even Master Hyperion will have to go toe-to-toe with Bouncer as he will just negate Hyperion's destruction effect. This card would actually be a potential Trishula stopper; but judging from the March 2012 banlist, these two monsters will probably never meet in a duel..

This card comes with a few drawbacks. Firstly, his negation can only be used once per turn...meaning your opponent can actually work around this guy (but slowing themselves down in the process). Secondly, he can only negate on field effects. So unlike the scary GB War Chariot, Bouncer cannot negate effects which activate in the Graveyard or hand. Apart from these two cons, Photon Streak Bouncer is one hell of a powerful Xyz which you will soon see in action in the upcoming tournaments.

Now, summoning Bouncer is not as hard as it seems. In fact, he can actually be teched into various deck archetypes... Hieroglyphs! The brand new dragon archetype released with this card can certantly Xyz summon Bouncer easily. Tfeni, Shiyu, Wattdragon (and sometimes Lightpulsar) are all easily summonable Level 6 monsters in a Hieroglyph deck. If you suspect that your opponent might have an Effect Veiler in hand and negate your Atumus's effect, Xyz Summon Bouncer instead and stun your opponent! Instead of your opponent successfully stopping your OTK move, summon Bouncer and its your turn to control your opponent!

Next we take a look at Graveyard Blackfeather. As we know this deck is capable of bringing out multiple Blackwing - Armed Wings in one turn with Vayu for a beatdown, summoning Photon Streak Bouncer is not impossible. Unable to finish off your opponent after swinging for 2300+2300 damage? Overlay the Armed Wings into Bouncer and make sure your opponent cannot make a come back by summoning Black Rose Dragon the next turn.

Other decks which can summon Photon Streak Bouncer include Gishki builds which still run Gustkrake. Xyz the 2 Gustkrakes which already used their effects into something better instead of letting them get beatdown the next turn. Dragunities, Inzektors, Photons and even Gigavise plant builds can also make use of this card. So when you have the chance, summon Photon Streak Bouncer and give your opponent a headache!

Card review: Thunderclap Knight - Gaia Dragoon

Thunderclap Knight - Gaia Dragoon (What is with the double"o"s?)
Dragon/Xyz/Effect
Good new chaos xyz card. The best part, it never uses its xyz material so basically it is a big beat stick that can pierce! It is not hindered at all if it does not have xyz material because it does not even use them! What is this? Yu-Gi-Oh!
NO 2 level 7? No problem, you just overlay this on a Rank 5/6 monster that has served its purpose.
It is a card that can be literally be splashed into any extra deck for one reason: Mind Controlololo I know, we were told not to steal. However, if it is for the taking why not?
Conclusion: Maybe that is why Mind Control was not banned for March 2012? To promote more Stealing chaos XYZ summon? That is epic, despite praying Mind Control being banned, it does not come true. What happens if more chaos XYZ monsters are being introduced? Mind Control will be bloody broken. With Mind Control around, This XYZ monster is not to be missed.

Before I end, Let me say my prayer: (Credits Ghakim)
Remain pure against those who manipulate others, Great Obelisk! Punish the weak and feeble, Great Slifer! Give us strength in out time of need, Winged Dragon of Ra! And most importantly, ban Mind Control. The Almighty Horakthy! Thank you!

Reviews and thoughts:
Konami might implement a set rotation strategy with the ban of popular plant tuners and the notorious Trishula. I felt sadded though that Trishula is like our "Yubel" or "Astral" by our side where it both watched and help us won duels. Most grown up stronger with this card in the game.
The card gives lots of sentimental value to everyone, it became hard to let it go and accept the fate that it is gone. Every criminal eventually has to face the laws and the consequences. From the abuse of it in Infernities to the hands of an agent angel not to mentioned that Trishula became a man and grow balls too. Get it?? Venus + balls + any lvl 2 tuner. This are some of my thoughts on the banlist. Now moving on to the analysis that I wanted to show you.

Dustshoot:
Its a broken card that changes the game the moment you start first and had in in your starting hand. It gives players an advantage which rips one card away from your opponent's hand. For example a rescue rabbit, effect veilers and a maxx c. On top of that a chance to look at opponents hand is and predict its next move is too much of a disruptive advantage.
1st. It makes you a step ahead of your opponent. then it -1 of your opponent's hand. I bet everyone is happy that this card got ban. But the grin only stays short.

Trishula:
Similar to dustshoot. It gives a player advantage and minus 3 for your opponent in a form of a 2700 beat stick. Reason being is that Konami is trying to promote exceeds desperately and to do so, they had to kill the top tier synchro decks and monsters. This is also to promote the duel terminal 14's verz ouroboros to replace the trishula. Looking in the duel terminal archetypes, the only archetype that makes into the meta was lavals, gishki and x-saber (tcg) and (the) fabled. Broken Synchro monsters: Naturia Barkion, Beast and landoise, Ice barrier's Trishula and brionac. To look in another perspective, DT sales has been failing ever since. Konami has gone desperate and with a format with swarming insects, DT archetypes are not on a leveled playing ground with the current meta such as inzektors and windups.

This lead me into mentioning about the quick release of archetypes and boosters recently. After all the rants and complaints that the OCG players had made to the slow release of extrapacks and TCG exclusives cards on  the OCG playing ground. This also introduced a variety of more broken plays where the meta is heading right now with 2 of the most notorious deck remained untouched. This also help to earn the trust of the players that were hit hard by list which those who played agent angels and junk doppel. This then brings me to the next highlight that the TCG people are frustrated about.

Reborn Tengu:
It is an irritating card that floats no matter how you try to get rid of it which also a splashable tech card into any deck. Nobody expects Konami to hit a TCG exclusive card that never tasted the OCG ground before. Konami decides to be more stern and daring with this banlist to prove players wrong that Konami would not hit a TCG exclusive card. This only means that the OCG players would get the Tengu sooner than we would expect it. This brings me to the next topic of the tuners that were hit and a structure deck card.

Earth, Agent of Mystery:
After TGAA being topped in so many tourneys, Konami decides to hit it hard by jeopardizing its consistency and speed which is their very own E-hero stratos instead of the boss monster, Master Hyperion. The theory of "Konami would never hit a structure deck exclusive card" is wronged. Its been a year since the release of Structure deck 20:Lost Sanctuary. Usually after a year of release that structure deck becomes dead or unpopular. Which means nobody would buy the SD anymore. An example would be Machina Command. The deck totally never comes back anymore after insane releases of new archetypes. In a business perspective, its called a matured product which is outdated and has to go as konami only cares about its sales and revenue.

End of part 1. Tune in for part 2
Signing off the Masqueraded Psycho Jester :D

Thoughts about the March 2012 banlist

Credits: Edwin Soh
Forbidden
------------
Grow-up Bulb - Level 1 tuner which can bring back itself, splashable in many decks. I personally do not think that they should hit this card. I think dandylion is a greater threat though.

Spore - Another tuner which brings back itself. Junk Doppels got hit hard this time. Two key tuners taken out from the deck, access to Formula Synchron will be much harder. Use an Effect Veiler? Tech in an Unknown Synchron?

Trishula - One of the most iconic cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! now banned. What is this? Yep, no doubt this card can sometimes really mess up your opponent, many meta decks now can come back after getting 'Trishula-ed'. Seriously, why this and not BLS? I guess we will miss the fun we had with this guy.

Trap Dustshoot - Seen this coming. A card which should go. Approve.

Limited
----------
The Agent of Mystery - Earth - Yep. Konami still did not hit any feature card of a Structure Deck yet. So to kill Agents? Take out more consistency from the deck by hitting their search power. They probably didn't want to hit Venus as people might just play Jupiter to make up for the loss. Do not really agree with this hit as Agents are already not doing as well as they used to; thanks to Inzecter and Lagia decks everywhere. Plus now with Trishula gone...

Tech Genus Striker - Level 2 tuner which can be special summoned easily. No problem with this hit.

Semi-limited
----------------
Marshmallon - Not really much to say here. Stall/burn decks will be happy. Although this thing will not survive a turn against Inzecters.

Lightlord Summoner Luminous - Yeah! Lightlords finally got abit more support. No more "My charge mill away my Lumina now nothing to search!". More speed for this archetype which have been dead for a long time. Approve.

Emergency Teleport - Another card which many predicted will come back. No problem with this.

Shien's Smoke Signal - Although Six Samurais are still powerful, this at 2 should have been how the September 2011 banlist should look like.

Level Limit Area B - Nothing much to talk about here either. With so many backrow removal, this card will not survive long anyway.

Torrential Tribute - Good! More reason to play Starlight Road. Lol!

Ultimate Offering - This should have been the case in the last banlist where offering gadgets are more dominant. Maybe Konami might be planning to release some imbal Rank 4 soon and this prevents offering gadgets from abusing it.

Reborn Tengu - At first everyone was like WTF? We don't even have Tengu. People are now speculating that the Starter Deck 2012 might give OCG Reborn Tengu. Thus the hit.

Unlimited
-------------
Call of the Haunted - Trololol. 4 'Monster Reborn's. Sangan and the likes, Knight of the End and Card Gunner are now happy. Or maybe Darklord Superbia can be abused to troll the shit out of people by summoning 2 big fairies in their face

Full Yen Ranking Tournament Report at (18/2/2012)

- Trying my best to do a decent report, my Opponents please enlighten me if there is anything wrong

After my bad performances on the last tourney, I decided to get things serious. Finally put in Chaos hope and Fortress
Number of participants : 12+??
Deck used: Karakuri
Judge: Jiyeon

Round 1 vs Edwin Soh/Fellow Teammate (Mirror Match) OXO
Game 1: He veiler my merchant at the start of the game, however, I did the standard karakuri stuns and push the game from there.
Game 2:  I veiler his Merchant at the start of the game (Conicidence). After I did my Karakuri stuns and failed to kill him, He just went Chimeratech Fortress Dragon and beat me from there.
Game 3: After turns of exchanging blows we ended up top-decking. Luck was on my side when I had a Karakuri Komachi mdl 224 “Ninishi” and drew another karakuri monster. Push the game from there.

Round 2 vs Wei Heng (Dark World) OO-
Game 1: If I remember correctly, I cyclone his face down skill drain. Beat him down from there, his Grapha revived for a beating only.
Game 2:  I had a bad hand at that time, have a Karakuri Ninja, DD.crow with two Iron call stuck there with no targets in grave. The intense moment is where he set heavy backrow with an active skill drain. He dragged down to grave my DD. Crow. However, I managed to draw another 1 and removed that Grapha from play. I actually had a heavy storm a few turns later, but I decided against using it as he had set 2 face down monsters (I suspect one of them is a morphing jar : Turns out to be true later. Decided to clear his two set monster before hitting for game)
He xyz Hope which of course I warning. Note: Turns out to be a great mistake…. Guess what I drew the next turn? Yes, surprisingly; Mind Control………(No chaos Hope.)
After I killed his two set monster (A morphing jar is one of them...), He makes things difficult by mind-crushing Iron call. Both of them get thrown into the grave. (He knows what I got due to drag down)
He also threw in “system down”, My Catastor was gone and my grave becomes karakuri free.
However, I gathered enough resources on my hand at that time. Heavy storm his backrow. I then did karakuri swarming, used mind control to move his last monster out of the way and go for game

Top 4
Round 3 vs Roger (Junk Doppel) OXX
Game 1: Used a Merchant to ram into a mystic tomato. He did not seemed to have anything for me. Went Trishula and hit from there. (He seemed to be warming up because things got hard for me on the 2nd and 3rd game)
Game 2: Made a terrible mistake when I set warning first instead of bottomless. Got 6k life points left, He threw in a trag and did beatdown.
Game 3: Made a serious mistake by continuing to special summon when he drop a Maxx C. Got bit nervous, and messed up. It ended up with Roger having 9 cards in his hand while taking 2.8k from scrap dragon. He did his swarming with that many resources and kills me from there.

Result: last 2 of top 4
Not much to say better than expected, some luck I guess.
Anyway, I got advice from Wesley about Maxx C so thanks alot
Got too nervous, I guess.but I had fun. Going to be better I hope.

GAOV is ………. And a “couple” Kinokuniya “raid”

Thursday, 16/2/2012

Should have written this yesterday but seriously…….
Basically, WDF had a gathering at Cheng Wee’s place with 6 box of GROV. What is this! Yu-Gi-Oh. We don’t have to eat at all. Yu-Gi-Oh is our food yeah, awesome.
Basically out of 6 boxes. We got the following

1)      I think Only got 1 Gaia Dragoon, the Force of Thunder/Thunderclap Knight - Gaia Dragoon (EDWIN!!!!)
2)      2 Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
3)      Don’t know how many Photon Streak Bouncer
4)      Don’t know how many Number 25: Fullmetal Photoglide - Focus Force (ultra and ulti)
5)      Saw a few Inzektor Exa-Stag.
6)      Don’t know how many Number 32: Marine Biting Dragon - Shark Drake (Ultra and Ulti)
7)      Hieroglyph God Dragon – Ennead (how many lazy count…. >.<)
8)      Got tired of Dragon Devil - Queen Dragoon
9)      And no Holo!! What is this? Yu-Gi-Oh. WDF pick like so many boxes and what the hell

Well, we got lots of Hieroglyph commons and support though. Helping Edwin to look for buyer for commons. >.<
Inzektor really got lots of support. Especially it got its own “Mind Control”
That is all for yesterday. I am really late.  L

Friday 17/2/2012.
Today was kind of a blur. I did not meet up with the rest of the WDF members. Instead, I hanged out with a very beautiful friend of mine to get her Cosplay stuff in Orchard. LAWL.

Ok, WDF seriously, back to main point.
As we are at Orchard,  We both decided together to go Kinokuniya. For Window Shopping! (I was really broke)

We both got crazy over manga…..
I was broke so yeah when I see zexal manga 2 for the No.50…. I was like ||||

However, I got some tip:I was told that the V-jump for No. 15 Gimmick Puppet - Giant Killer will be hitting the main branch on next Wednesday, First Batch!!
However, I was told to be quick as there are lots of customers asking for books as well (Wondered who they were?). So by releasing this piece of shit, I think if everyone were to rush to kino next week, there might be a huge competition and we might ended up duelling; The winner get to buy the book (Lawl).

That is all, not going to say anything else.
Cheers

Whole-Hearted Vs Half-Hearted

Now what do I mean by that? According to dictionary, being whole-hearted means being focused on just 1 role while being half-hearted means juggling different roles at all times.

Decks are like that too, they are also sorted to Whole-Hearted and Half-Hearted.

Examples of Whole Hearted decks: Karakuri, Six Samurai, Gadgets. Basically any deck that just focus on one archetype to play with a few side cards to assists such as veiler
Examples of Half-Hearted decks: T.G Agents, Junk Doppel
1)      Consistency issues;

Whole-Hearted decks usually had lesser consistency issues than Half-Hearted decks. They both had common issues bad draws/starting hands.
2)      Ability to give a impact (If both have good hands)

Whole-Hearted decks cannot really guarantee you a win in one turn. They just ensure you a strong standing on the turn you start first. (Example: Six Sam plays Shi-en like a boss with Maga and heavy backrow at back!!)

Half-Hearted Decks can give you the OTK you wanted when you start second but be warned once you cannot OTK, you need to be ready to defend yourself. (Example: Junk Doppler opening hand: Foolish Burial, Junk Synchorn, One for One, DopplerWarrior, plus 2 other card. You should know what to do.)
That is my fruit of thought. What do you think?
Just comment

A Slight Update

5 Days! What is this? Yu-Gi-Oh!
Nothing much happened so far unless you guys think that one of the following is a great achievement.

a)      Badly bombarded by Elemental HERO Gustaph Max OTK twice in J-cube in a casual duel?

b)      Synch for BR Dragon instead of a KK synch monster?

c)      Being a Judge for a CF-Vanguard tourney on Saturday 11/2/2012. ?

-          See People mis-grade like shit. (Saw one of Sean Tan’s opponent had a grade 2 rear with a grade 1 vanguard. What is this? Sean informed me. I throw a warning, telling that fellow that he cannot attack with that grade 2 or intercept with that grade 2 till he rides to grade 2)

-          Some people think can change DECK!!! Seriously? Dude this is not Yu-Gi-Oh where you can Side-Deck. However, I was very friendly and say “no”

Anyway now to me this is what describes Vanguard.

-          Players attempt to stack triggers. *Ahem unknowingly
-          End up drawing all triggers.
-          With no grade 1 or grade 2 after mulligan.
-          Cry only
-          Scrub

Even if I “inform” the player that he is stacking, he can say “No. I never”

So what to do? Never mind, every cause has effect. You want to stack can. Just don’t cry when you ended up drawing all triggers. (Even after mulligan with no grade 1 or 2 in sight).

You attempt to increase your chance to win ended up backfiring at you.

Vanguard is a balance game. J

How to be a Pro

Disclaimer: This post is meant to be a parody and has no intention to insult or offend anyone.

1. You must circlejerk with the so called other pros so that you can be considered a true pro. Also, if you hang out with them long enough, start topics about how shitty other players are, even though you are not so good yourself.

 2. Always be a busybody and poke into all the pros' business. Of course, the best way to do that is to act like you actually don't care about the thing at all. It is a bonus if you are looked upon as a woman or even look like a stick woman. This way, you can actually provide some cocksucking services.

 3. You must lend cards to other pros. This will help you get recognition from other players. It's okay to not get your card back, that way, you can have more respect.

 4. Make up your own rulings in a tournament. Best if you are the judge. You will gain utmost respect and recognition from other players, even if you are severely wrong.

 5. Use mindless decks and spam a lot of monsters and backrow. You will be seen as a control master, while devoting your entire starting hand to the field. Best if you start out with limited cards that allow you to spam more.

 6. You must act arrogant and look like a woman. It is a bonus if you do look like a chimpanzee.

 7. Also, it is important to stalk those 2nd grade players online and message them on facebook about how much they suck and how they should know their place.

 8. Act like you have a very good and huge reputation in a children's card game. This will make the 2nd grade players know their place, even though you pretty much suck at Yu-Gi-Oh.

 9. You must have a blog. It is best to flame the shit out of everyone on the blog and call people names. You will raise awareness about your blog and people will read more and subscribe. It is a bonus if you call people names by where they used to work and call them KFC boy or boxmaster. It doesn;t matter if you are just a bum who is going to transfer school and act very boss and act as if that is such an honorable thing for you to do. Also, it is best to hype up cards like Card Car D, so that everyone would think it is good.

 10. You must create teams. The more teams the better. It doesn't matter if they suck. You can be the leader and borrow their cards. It is best to scrub in tournaments with those cards. Of course, scold your team members when they sort of misplay. To others around you, it makes you look super pro, to always talk about their misplays. also, best to fight with your teammate, and act like you are the one always in the right. This will allow others in the community to gain and trust you more.

My Monster Token.

Ok. supposed to study for exams but got bored. So decided to looked for "Troll Face Yu-Gi-Oh card" on google".

Turns out that the results was like...........WDF
(Awkward moment......)
So I decided to make one on my own.
I gonna print this out to make it my monster token for my Junk Doppler Deck.

Anyone who can make the "Troll Face Yu-Gi-Oh card " even better or with even better graphics please comment here and link me to the image.

I want to have fun in Yu-Gi-Oh >.<
Just Troll only.

Anyway before I end this let me chant my prayer (Credits to Ghakim)

Remain pure against those who manipulate others, Great Obelisk! Punish the weak and feeble, Great Slifer! Give us strength in our time of need, Winged Dragon of Ra! And most importantly, ban Mind Control, Almighty Horakthy! Thank you!

Ps: This chant should be valid till Mind Control is banned. (Just banned it, Mind Control troll people only)

Full Yen Ranking Tournament Report (04/02/12)

We were fucked before the tourney.

So yeah, just to troll people, I decided to play Gishkis because it takes real balls to enter a tourney using a ritual deck. But guess what, 2 key cards I need badly, Gishki Shadow and Gustaph Max were missing. So how? OK, just use Sangan and buy one Gustaph Max.

Enter Match 1, Round 1:
Ghakim's Gishki vs Benjamin's Gladiator Beasts - Win/Win

- I begin first, doing a lot of stun because I have Abyss, Vision and Salvage. End product IIRC, one Abyss, one Zeal Gigas.
- Benjamin begins, Summon Murmillo, activate Kaiser colesseum, set 3, end.
- Draw, Battle Phase (cuz I scared of War Chariot), suicide Abyss with Murmillo, attack with Zeal Gigas - Dimension Prison. Emo. Main Phase 2, Summon Beast, SP Abyss, search for Shadow I think. Set Spiritual Water Art Aoi. End.
- Benjamin draws, I activate Water Art ASAP, only discard My Body as a Shield. Emo. End.
- Draw, Activate Aquamirror- Dark Bribe, Activate Aquamirror- Dark Bribe. So sad. Nevermind, drop Shadow, search Aquamirror, activate with success! Summon Zeal Gigas, pay 1K lifepoints, drew an Abyss, shuffle his set card, win!

Enter Round 2:
For my side, I decide to put in 2 Royal Decree, 1 Gozen Match. Maybe 3 was better afterall.

- Don't really remember what happened but I was getting owned quite badly because of his heavy backrow and my Royal Decree getting bombarded.
- My Tragodiae dies, he summon Heraklinos, GG.
- Draw, I got a Monster Reborn, Levianima, Zeal Gigas. How to play? OK, Monster Reborn, target Tragodiae. He ask how many cards in my hand. He pass. WOW! OK, activate Tragodiae effect, drop Levianima and target Heraklinos. WOW! Pass again? Well yeah I was thinking that after most of my monsters effect passed. OK, whack you with Heraklinos, he eats 3K. Set Gozen Match, end.
- Fast forward, he summon out one Darius. Attack my Tragodiae. Obviously I won't let him battle because I don't want to die to a stupid Murmillo. Activate Gozen Match and send Tragodiae to grave. Main Phase 2, he activate one Spell card, forgot what, I drop Zeal Gigas like a boss and negate. He GG, end.
- Whack his Darius, he eat. Then he wish to scoop to which I accept because I know how it feels to die to a losing battle.

Enter Match 2, Round 1: Lose/Lose
Ghakim's Gishki vs Eustace's Six Samurai w/e

- He start first, only know how to summon Shien. I scrub.

Enter Round 2:
Threw in Royal Decree and Gozen Match.

- My hand really damn suck. What the fuck, Gishki so much search power yet can get damn suey hand! I summon Zeal Gigas, end.
- He Summon Shien, set 3, end.
- Draw, activate Zeal Gigas effect- Fiendish Chain. WTF. OK, Summon Abyss- Fiendish Chain. SERIOUSLY, WTF. I try to do some shit like Solemn Judgment, oh Magatama. FUCKING SHIT.
- Fast forward, I running out of cards, he summon Grandmaster, whack with him and Shien, I summon Tragodiae to cock block. OK, Main Phase 2, he summon Volcasaurus, bomb Tragodiae, 'game'.

SO HERE'S WHERE'S THE DRAMA.

1. Volcasaurus cannot inflict damage to a monster with ? ATK.
2. I had a Monster Reborn and one Zeal Gigas. So I still have a fighting chance.

These things were only realized after the tourney. But can I be blamed for if I don't know about card rulings like about Volcasaurus? Uh, no? Its not everyday I get burned by a Volcasaurus inside a SIX SAM DECK.

C'mon lah, if it takes a clone of Infernity Doom Dragon to win you a game against a ritual deck, something is severely wrong. I sometimes think that letting a ritual deck hit somewhere around the finals is more interesting than seeing Yet Another Everyday Deck top the tournament. WDF is Yugioh if a nobody can't become somebody?

See you in the next tournament.

- Ghakim

P.S. Remain pure against those who manipulate others, Great Obelisk! Punish the weak and feeble, Great Slifer! Give us strength in our time of need, Winged Dragon of Ra! And most importantly, ban Mind Control, Almighty Horakthy! Thank you!
