Magical (Prophecy) Decklist

This blog has been dead for the past month and I believe it's time to post something... I've been playing Magicals and Mermails for the past 2 months and both decks seem to be fairing pretty well. Mermails are kinda the meta now so I decided to talk about Magicals instead.

The deck has its easily summonable/searchable boss monster, High Priestess of Prophecy, which is pretty much a Master Hyperion. Although her attack is not as high, the means to bring out High Priestess is what makes her so feared. Apart from this, the deck also has draw power in terms of Wonder Wand and the Field Spell, and a little bit of control with Effect Veilers and Fiendish Chains.

Here's the list if you don't recognize some of the cards:-

Monsters -16
----------------
3x Effect Veiler
3x High Priestess of Prophecy
3x Spellbook Magician of Prophecy (Searches for Spellbooks)
3x Temperance of Prophecy (Helps summon High Priestess from deck)
2x Justice of Prophecy (Helps search High Priestess and Spellbooks from deck)
1x Stoic of Prophecy (Search for the above 2 monsters)
1x Night's End Sorcerer

Spells - 16
-------------
3x Wonder Wand
3x Spellbook of Secrets
2x The Grand Spellbook Tower
2x Spellbook of Life
2x Spellbook of Wisdom
1x Spellbook of Eternity
1x Spellbook of Power
1x Spellbook of Fate
1x Monster Reborn

Traps - 8
-----------
2x Fiendish Chain
2x Torrential Tribute
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
2x Compulsory Evacuation Device

You'll notice most of the spells in this deck are Spellbooks, and they alone can get this deck going.

Spellbook of Secrets - The searcher, can search out any Spellbook card, including Spellbook Magician of Prophecy.
The Grand Spellbook Tower - The Field Spell which gives us additional draw power and recycles the Spellbooks.
Spellbook of Life - The monster reborn.
Spellbook of Wisdom - The forbidden lance, kinda.
Spellbook of Eternity - Works wonders with High Priestless.
Spellbook of Power - Attack boost with search.
Spellbook of Fate - Situational card which saved me a lot of times.

This deck has A LOT of searching and deck thinning going on. (Beware of Rai-Oh) Here's some of the little combos you can pull off.

- Summon Spellbook Magician, effect search 1. Equip Wonder Wand and tribute both to draw 2.

- High Priestess banish 1 Spellbook to destroy 1 card. Activate Spellbook of Eternity, return the banished Spellbook to your hand. Eternity makes another High Priestess ammo, or you can return it to the deck with the Field Spell, search it out with Secrets, and do it again.

- Summon Temperance or Justice, activate Spellbook of Life to banish Spellbook Magician and SS Night's End from graveyard, it will be level 4. Banish 2 cards from opponent's graveyard and proceed to synchro Arcanite Magician. It's just amazing with what you can do with Spellbook of Life and Night's End.

Apart from these, your main objective is to bring out High Priestess as fast as possible and control your opponent with her. Spellbooks of Life can bring her back from the dead, Spellbook of Power makes her an incredible 3500 ATK monster and Spellbook of Wisdom protects her from the nasty spells/traps your opponent might use.

There are actually more stuff this deck can pull off, but I am just listing down the usual plays. Try out this deck and feel its power. :)

Double tournament report 4/11/2012

OK, It has being rather stale lately as I am just lazy to put details...... here goes
Went with Jason and Khai (Only Jason participates however)

Free Top shop tournament at Thousand Taste 4/11/2012

Format: Single Eli
Number of Participant: 20 +
Deck used: Chaos Rabbit Geargia
Judge: Bixuan

Round 1 vs Sebastian OO- (Heros?)

Game 1: Geargiant X searches for a Balck Salvo, ended with a Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 "Burei" that called out a Karakuri Ninja mdl 339 "Sazank", etc.... Forgot how I win.

Game 2: Tour Guide to Sangan that serach out rabbit....., while he drew a terrible hand. Meanwhile I kept derping him with top decking of limited cards like monster reborn etc.

Round 2 vs Shi Jie OXX (Skill Drain Rabbit Laggia)

Game 1: So many Chalice WTF, Karakuri Ninja mdl 339 "Sazank" attempts to Troll Laggia but it got trolled back by Chalice. However, a series of back and forth. Laggia + Garments = Sucide with my BLS...... However, managed to chip in bit by bit till he is handless and hit for game
.
Game 2: Stop giving my Tour Guide the chalice!!! Died to a Beast King Barbaros with help from skill drain.

Game 3: Make a terrible misplay. Already have the advantage with a Skilled Drained Tour guide that kept poking him while his 5 BACKROW never answers him. His LP was at 3k. I drew a monster reborn. I got greedy, ignoring all the backrow and I just reborn his Barbaros to kill.
He got a mirror force waiting >.< .
Even after lucksacking a heavy storm with help of allure of darkness, my fate is sealed.

So I got kicked out,,,,,,,

End of report??/
Nope not yet

Well, it is supposed to be over, we just go back to Yewtee Econ to give a slack, AND it turns out there was ANOTHER YU-GI-Oh TOURNAMENT!!
Sadly, it is not free but since it is just a cheap $2 tournament, I was thinking "Why Not?"
Well, there was a VG tournament going on just about then so it is going to start out quite late, meanwhile we just slacked around.

Turns out one of our WDF members; Victoriette Lim was at Econ.
So we just chit-chat for a while to pass time.

Finally, the tournament starts (FINALLY)

Full Yen Econ Mini Tournament Report 4/11/2012

Format: Double Eli
Number of Participant: less than 12??
Deck used: Chaos Rabbit Geargia

Round 1 vs Jason XX- (Inzektors) (Team Member)

Game 1: I know I already lost, but he kept assuming I had Swift Scarecrow, (due to daily training) so I just derp him by letting him reduce my LP to zero.
Game 2: Nothing to say, bugs do all the plus and bomb

Round 2 vs Sebastian OXX (Hero + Revenge match)

Game 1: He had exactly 2600 LP left, He got Alius plus a set card on the field
I got a Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 "Burei" and 2 X-Head Cannon on the field. It turns out that his set card is a Gemini Spark. It is a win for me.
.
Game 2: Forgot how I lost, I just lost

Game 3; When Honest is gay, it is gay

WDF Tournament Report #5 15/9/2012

Well, it is being awhile since we have one.
It is not really a ENTIRELY WDF. Full Yen Aunty "gave" us two more people to make a nice number for a swiss format.

We have a few new members..... Will do le update

I did not really write down much...... I think I getting lazy. So cannot remember much.

Format: 3 swiss cut to top 4
Number of Participant: 8
Deck used: Machina Gadget

Round 1 vs JJ?? (Black Feather) OO-

Game 1:
Annoying Icarus is annoying.........
Blew up two of my compluse.
Where is my starlight road when I needed it.
Played it slow as I am unsure of his backrow

(Apparently, he did not have a side deck so I decided to be fair and not side too.)

Game 2;
Can someone please tell me what to do with a Mind Controlled Vayu? Absolutely nothing.......
A Gaia Dragoon did massive hit on his vayu.

(At around here, we were forced to shift somewhere else, due to cleaning and washing shit)

Round 2 vs Edwin Soh (Book of Spell) XX-
Game 1: Forgot what happened

(Sided 2 Mind Crush)
Game 2: Killed my own roach with my torrential, but still died

Round 3 vs ??? (Chaos Dragon) XOO

Game 1: One does not simply have a perfect hand and kill me

(Sided 2 Debunk and 1 Morphing Jar 2)

Game 2: Played it slow as I prevent him from milling by complusing his Lyal (I think)
Cannot remember much.

Game 3; Ultimate Offering + Limiter Removal with a Solemn Warning as a back-up....

Top 4

Round 4 vs Ghakim (Gravekeepers)
Game 1;
Poke me with his recruiter
Judgement his Necrovalley........ Damn boss and stupid as well.
Mirror Force kills my Fortress plus Gearframe

(Sided 2 Debunk and Morphing Jar 2)

Game 2: Played it slowly, game with a limiter on Red, yellow and Machina Fortress

Game 3; Hit into time as I debunk his recruiter
Lost due to time

Apparently, it is very tiring.........
The top 2 placing is Hakim vs Jason.
They determine their victory with a dice roll which apparently Jason won.

And Jason made massive profit with his abyss rising pack...... (If you know what I mean)
End of Report

Sunday 2 September 2012

The outcome of the game? You be the judge of that!

Well lately I hanged out with the gang and shet and I hear a lot of bitchin' about rule-sharking, misplay, cheating and effect misconceptions. If I may simply put, it is the player's fault for not doing anything or noticing these faults beforehand because when the games over, shedding tears of defeat are meaningless.

OK, so I decided to come up with a one-shot solution to solve all of these problems. Pay attention because YOU decide how the game ends.

1. If you are stumped by a new or unfamiliar card (especially if its in non-English), ask the opponent or the judge for its effect(s). Your opponent is obliged to tell you the effect of it and the judge will be there to help you out for the confirmation of the effect and rulings. Don't be rule-sharked, EVER. If you have any doubts, ask a higher authority or even just check out the Yugioh Wikia.

2. Whenever your opponent takes move such as moving into different phases or card activations, always ask him to wait. He is obliged ask for your response (assuming you have cards to use). If he continues to defy you, you may inform the judge that he is performing fast-play. NEVER let your opponent catch you off-guard for a moment or you'll be hit in a stage where you absolutely can't do anything and its game-over.

3. Pay attention to the cards at all times. Don't ever be thrown off by some miniscule event that will give your opponent a moment to cheat. If you're lucky and you catch your opponent doing so, call the judge and accept your free win.

4. If you opponent mistook a card effect, goes through with it and would actually have a different outcome altogether, use it to your advantage. I had one time I was playing our personal tourneys and Jay activated Monster Reborn even when I had Necrovalley on the field. Our trusty Chieflion noticed right away and forced Jay to continue with the game, ruling that his Monster Reborn will have no effect. Though in other cases, if you proceed on in the game quite late and fail to notice a misinterpretation of a card, that outcome of the game can be unpredictable. Avoid that.

5. Last but not least, if the judge isn't too busy or if there are plenty of judges like in Official Konami Tournaments, ask one judge to watch over your duel at all times. If your opponent isn't a very sporting person, he will be cornered into a deadlock by the eyes of the judge, being unable to cheat or take advantage of you in any sort of way. Don't feel that you're wasting the judge's effort because its his job to dictate the rulings and watch over the tournament. Asides, they like watching a good game just about as much as anyone else right.

Be sure to note that any of these actions will help you kill time should you be in a deadlock of life points. There's more than 1 way to win.

To summarize what was said, it an be abbreviated into:

- Ask (the opponent and/or judge)
- Slow down (the opponents moves)
- Pay attention (to the cards at all times)
- Opponent's Mistake (of a certain card)
- Watch Over (with the help of the judge or spectators)

ASPOW.

Sounds pretty bad ass. I hope this advice helps you guys out if you have ever been caught in such a horrible situation. If I had to compare this with a situation of international levels, I would probably think about the FIFA World Cup match where England kicked the ball that hit the top of the football goal and cross the white line but the referees did not see it as a score. Its just a horrible feeling and thought.

To end it off, always remember to-

ASPOW THE OPPONENT! YA-HA!

THE GOLD BOX

OK, this picture is for illustration, but I did take this photo.
Basically,
wait; you guess how many boxes of these asses we bought over the last 2 days.

Guess why I write the the title in BOLD

The number of boxes we buy

Nope, not 1
not 5

It is:

Total cash spent; $275.

I using sample size of 11 boxes to give these conclusion.

For all those who wanted to start playing Yu-Gi-Oh, this box is really worth it. Got everything under the sun.
It is a bonus as well if you got a POD.
BLS is not bad.
Gold Babo is GOOD!
Monster reborn is Shiny

For those veterans who are in Yu-Gi-Oh meta for so long. Advice is
- buy for the kick of it. There may be disappointment.

- Getting good cards there is average.
- POD very hard
- Bls = Lady luck already very kind

For those who managed to get a POD from there. Sell one POD to cover the cost of one box.
I am serious, I am not joking here.

Or you can just buy the DREV one if you want to.....................................

OK, 11 boxes as a sample size may seem low. Yeah, so this source may not be reliable, it just serves as a guide.

For those who bought 3 boxes and get 3 PODS (if there is any)
- Lady Luck loves you.

I not gonna say how many POD we got. It is less than the number of boxes we have and it is not looking good.

End of report.

A Gamble. Cosmo Blazer

Hilo. Not much to post. There are exams and revision going on.

Ok, let's talk about the pack that is coming up after Abyss Rising

Cosmo Blazar (a very Fiery name)

The name itself MAY indicates that this pack will be full of fire monsters. (Which I hope)
New archetypes like how Konami makes it for Abyss rising aka Mermails
Ok, I am going to start a Gamble here;
Presenting

Rekindling-TU03-EN-SR-UE.png

So far the archetype that runs this %$^%$ the best is Laval with an insane milling capability. And Rekindling gives massive swarm and beats up with massive sychro spam.

Imagine this; What if the new fire archetype monsters have also 200 defence. And they also have similar concepts of dumping fire monsters to the grave?

They will be copy-cat version of Laval. Lolz
This is just a guess anyway. I mean if Konami did this I will be like:

In any case, I will be stocking up 3 copies of Rekindling; for precaution.
And if Konami really decides to be a dick and do what I predict; I will be like

If not, 3 rekindling look cool in my album.
Then again. Konami is really unpredictable ,god knows what it is doing. :P

That's my fruit of thought.

Cheers

Ghakim's Tournament Topping Gravekeeper's deck list

Oh hey, sup guys. Since I haven't posted in awhile, I thought I'd post the deck list for the one deck that's been ever strong and in circulation for a long time: Gravekeeper's. I was concerned about releasing this at first but now I'm like 'bitch please' cuz I've hardly seen another guy play Gravekeeper's and everyone prefers a faster deck but hey, the lack of appearance is how you win the battle.

Monsters (15) :
1x Fossil Dyna Pachypelano
1x Gravekeeper's Assailant
3x Gravekeeper's Commandant
3x Gravekeeper's Descendant
3x Gravekeeper's Recruiter
3x Gravekeeper's Spy
1x Sin Stardust Dragon

Spells (13) :
1x Book of Moon
1x Dark Hole
2x Gravekeeper's Stele
3x Necrovalley
1x Night Shot
3x Pot of Duality
2x Royal Tribute

Traps (12) :
1x Bottomless Trap Hole
2x Compulsory Evacuation Device
1x Dark Bribe
1x Dimensional Prison
1x Mirror Force
1x Solemn Judgment
2x Solemn Warning
1x Starlight Road
2x Torrential Tribute

Extra deck:
3x Stardust Dragon
1x Utopia
1x Chaos Utopia
(The extra deck is really where you can put in anything you want)

So yeah, I guess there's some explanation to some of my card choices.

Fossil Dyna Pachypelano:
This is one of those unexpected side cards that's mained. Its quite funny if your opponent thinks 'Oh its just a stupid recruiter or a spy' and then they swarm and get killed by this shit. Also helps to beat your opponent to death without the problem of Gorz.

Night Shot:
I did have Cyclone inside at first but due to the amount of cards used to control the opponent, it was eventually squeezed into 1 or 0. However, Cyclone is only useful if its used to eliminate backrow on the turn its set and chained with. It does suck however to hit a chainable card like Raigeki Break or another Cyclone, hence the change to Night Shot.

Bottomless Trap Hole:
I only run 1 due to the prominence of Inzektors. Sometimes the first appearance of Damsel can be the end so this card can be completely useless by then. Otherwise, the most common card to terminate huge monsters.

Compulsory Evacuation Device:
I did run 3 at one point though there's no reason to do so if your opponent can easily Normal or Special Summon the monster again. Otherwise one of the best cards to eliminate Tribute or Extra deck monsters. Kinda funny too to see your opponent's reaction when you use this on Spy.

Dark Bribe:
One of those cards that was originally meant to stop the big storm without a painful cost. Also stops any of the game changing spell/traps.

Dimensional Prison:
The ever so useful card to eliminate your opponent's monster from eliminating yours. A better top-deck than Bottomless Trap Hole, especially when you're being beatdown by a measly monster.

Well, I guess that's about all I can present to you folks about the deck which I topped 5 of WDF's tournaments with. Its not the strongest deck in the game but its one of the easiest, cheapest and most versatile decks in the game. Anyone can just pick up this to learn and play. You don't even need the extra deck at times, other than for Stardust Dragon. Maybe after this you guys will play Gravekeeper's too. But hey, Gravekeeper's mirror matches are funny as they are uninteresting. I set 1 monster and end my turn.

- Ghakim as Marik

All the talks about Lightpulsar

I am not gonna say any shit about banlist, because majority has done that.
I just be writing a small issue people had with Lightpulsar.
Not mentioning names:
Some claim Lightpulsar is the problem card.
Not saying it is False or anything, it is agreeable but not entirely.
When I read this, I still felt REDMD is as a huge problem as Lightrpulsar. REDMD is to me, one of the factors that Lightpulsar claims its rightful position in Chaos Dragon Deck.

At first . I was unsure what to write ,cause apparently I was brain dead.....
It was till one of my friend smack the facts at me than I was able to use his explanation to tell eveyone here, Lightpulsar is not 100% in credit/Problem in helping Chaos Dragon win games.

I saw one YGO blogger (not mentioning names) wrote this "If Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon would be considered the king of all dragons then Lightpulsar Dragon is most definitely the most loyal knight in the dragon empire"

Yes, I 100% agree with this statement, Lightpulsar is the best card to be used with REDMD and Atums is also a gay card to be used with REDMD.
Both Atums and Lightpulsar are loyal knights to REDMD

However, he forgot one very important fact.

The King has the ability to restrict the power of his subjects.

Hope you get the idea here.

IF the king only grant a certain  amount power to his subject, that is the limit the subject can do.

In many games I saw, to me about 70% of the Chaos Dragon player used LightPulsar's effect to revive REDMD

Cross-refer to REDMD.

If you do not have REDMD to revive in the game or if konami decides to be a dick and hit REDMD in their banlist), Lightpulsar's effect and number of possible/potential targets would be reduced.

Thus by restricting or limiting REDMD, you are controlling the power of Lightpulsar Dragon as well.

The gay power of Lightpulsar is dependant on availability of REDMD in grave.

Considering the worst situation to mild situation for REDMD

REDMD is Banned! (Yeah dream on!)
- Number of Chaos Dragon player will drop drastically in my opinion.

REDMD is limited?
- How many Lightpulsars will you put?
- What if the only REDMD is bottomless? Able to get it back?

REDMD is semi-limited
- Life will go with some bumps or some player apparently only run 2? So does it affect them?

REDMD is untouched
- Life goes on.

Considering the worst situation to mild situation for LightPulsar.

LightPulsar is Banned (Yeah 100% bullshit in my opinion)
- No worries, there is Atums, even though it does not create the impact that is as strong.

Lightpulsar is limited?
- Life is sea-sick?

Lightpulsar is semi-limited
- Not really much impact, apparently not many runs 3

Lightpulsar is untouched
- Life goes on, you happy, I also happy.

Personal opinions and friends' guidelines

Ok, on with the report.

Format: 6 swiss cut to top.
Number of Participant: Lazy to count

He summon Venus and used effect which I veilered. His LP: 5650.
My Chaser ran over his Venus. His LP: 5400
I summon my Gearframe, which he veiler. My Chaser killed his set Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite.  Gearframe direct attack, His LP: 3600
I xyz summon my Chaser and Gearframe for a Geargiganto X which he got rid of. (Forgot how)

He summon Card Trooper. used effect and ran me. My LP 6100.
I kind of forgot how the game goes.
He ended with a Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier (that killed my cyber dragon) and a Melomelody the Brass Djinn (that attack me twice on previous turn).
My LP: 1700
His LP 2800. Due to Zephyros abd some other shit which I forgot

I topped a BLS and killed him lol. >.<

(Sided 2 Mind Crush)

Game 2
He potted for a Heavy Storm.
So I just set 1 backrow at a time. My X-head cannon attack him. His LP: 6200
My Fortress Ran over his Card Trooper. His LP: 4100
Gearframe and Chaser also attack. His LP: 450.
He decided to heavy storm, but it did not hurt much. After that set lots of nasty backrows.
He managed to get his Master Hyperion out but it dared not attack Fortress and he got no cards to remove to bomb.
When he ended, I compluse his Hyperion. I used Fortress to attack. He attempted to Necro Gardna but I had a Divine Wrath waiting. >.<

Round 2 vs Ang Kim Meng (Inzektors) XX-

Game 1: Died to very bad hand. And as we Judgement each other, His LP: 3325, My LP: 3600. He got a DAD and bugs to kill >.<

Game 2: Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja and a 3k Muzurhythm the String Djinn, screws things up on my Gearframe and Fortress. And I got no cards to answer me. I died.

Round 3 vs Clarence (Inzektors) XOX

Game 1 : My X-Head cannon attacks him. His LP: 6200.
His Damsel and Equipped Centipede (ladybug) killed my X-head Cannon. My LP: 6700
He xyz summon to Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja that hit me till my LP drop to 3700. I got a mind control, took his Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja to make Gaia Dragoo. Hit him His LP :500
But he got Bugs waiting for me and bombs me. >.<

(Sided a Morphing Jar 2 and Transmigration Prophecy)

Game 2:
2 Chaser attacks and kill his Centipede. Made a Geargiganto X. Add a Gearframe. I veiled his Damsel. Killed him outright.

Game 3
Bad hand is bad. Got killed by a 2k Chimeratech Fortress Dragon

(Lunch Break here!)

Round 4 vs Kevin Neo (Chaos Dragon) XOX
Game 1: Cannot get passed all his Summon. Light Pulsar is strong. Even with Fortress, only bomb his Lyla. Can't remember much, I just died.

(Put Transmigration Prophecy and Morphing Jar 2)

Game 2: He got a really Bad hand. Got boss card in his Hand but no Dark in his grave. (My Morphing Jar 2 milled his Cyber Dragon)

Game 3: Hit into time. I judgement his Dark hole that tried to kill my Geargiganto X, Gearframe and my Fortress. But He reborn a Cyber Dragon! You Should know what happen next

Round 5 vs Zhang Jun (Machina Gadget) XOX

Game 1: Limiter kills

(Sided  2 Mind Crush and A Morphing Jar 2)

Game 2: Veiling hits the spot along with Mind crush. Judgement his Mirror force and push fron there.

Game 3: Both of us are low on resources, but he got a cannon that hit me for game.

Round 6 vs Eu Yong Xun?? (Inzektors) OO-
(Apparently, he is very discouraged so did not play well. No need to say much)

Apparently, Wen Liang had being beside me for the last 2 rounds. ON his Round 6, he is on a match against Pokekid88, and god damn vulgar and chinese crap like hell. (Must be losing nerves due to bad win-loss ratio, srubbing already)
Saying summon in chinese, banish in chinese, graveyard in chinese etc. Vulgar in chinese too lolololo.

I also saw Galvin, (that hero beat guy who thrashed me in ACS 2012), still very calm and sane despite bad win-loss ratio.

Front table where all good win-loss ratio are as calm as hell, while the back table is like a street market due to nerve-breaking of bad win-loss ratio.

Ok, after this, it is boring 3 month with no shit to look forward, until the sept banlist. Lawl.

Cheers

Updates. Abyss Rising

Inactivity due to deck testing on DN.
Ok back to the main point. This Saturday is the World's in Singapore so yeah, I will just have fun and shit. Whatever.

Ok, the following cards in the upcoming Abyss Rising caught my attention.
a) Heroic Champion - Gandiva
- Spells Trouble for Rabbit Players
- Burst the Bubble for Bubbleman
- Ironically, this card can be splashed into Heros

b) Heroic Champion - Kusanagi
- a weaker version of Naturia Barkion, but gains attack upon negating a Trap.
- Possible to be splashed into Heros?

c) Number 9: Canopy Star - Dyson Sphere
 - Interesting.

Oh yeah, the "Magical" may be better once Abyss Rising comes out.
More to deck-thinning - Magical Instructor Sisti, aka Chaos soc searcher? There is light and dark for Magical. (May work??)0.0
Er, a "Mind Control"for Magical - Magical Emperor Empeur

Finally the card that may up the tier of Magical (maybe!)
- Magical Empress Saint Tris
This card is Damn OTT. Blow cards up to the number of "spellbook"revealed, then you can "predict"'what card you will draw.

That is my fruit of thought
- Odin Kaiserchronik Kitaras

Tuesday 12 June 2012

Get your Hanzos. If you know what I mean.

Even before the new booster "Abyss Rising" and Structure Deck: Roar of the Sea Emperor appeared, I had been play testing this deck. So far not quite bad. Got to admit, Hanzo anyone? The whole deck speaks for itself. Still in the testing process. Need to perfect it lol. But basically, it abuses the Mermails and the Atlanteans.

TTZ Trading WCQ 9/6/2012

Even though some of my teammates cease to play YGO due to NS and shit
I am still in the game
As usual, burning cash to test deck. (Threw a cyber dragon and a Divine wrath in my tech deck)
Reports are based on how much I wrote down. Really have a bad memory

Format: 5 swiss cut to top 8
Number of Participants: Above 30?
Deck used: Rabbit Machina Geargia

Round 1 vs David (Chaos Dragon) OXO
Game 1
A semi-decent hand. Used X-head cannon to attack. His LP 6200. He drop Tragodia, I complused it back. I managed to summon a Geargiganto X, hits his LP to 3900 The Game is push back to forth. His Tragodia (3.6atk) running over my gearframe. (My LP 6200) I am forced to switch my Geargiganto X to defense position. I was forced to used my fortress to battle the Tragodia (3k atk), (My LP 5700).
I bottomless his Su, he attempted to summon REDMD which I Judgement it. He then scooped

(Sided a Transmigration prophecy and a morphing jar 2)

Game 2
Rabbit summons 2 X-Head cannon, go limiter removal. His LP 800. I then xyz to Geargiganto X added garframe
However, He OTKed me with Dragons and shit on the next turn

Game 3
Rabbit summon 2 X-Head cannon, go Geargiganto X add gearframe.
Next turn, I summon Gearframe but he veiler it.
Managed to kick his LP to 3.9k with a Geargiganto X and a Gearframe. His LP is further reduced to 2.1k by my attack on the next turn (I not sure how)
He attempted a seal of gathering but I decided to Solemn Judgement it. My LP: 4k. Is it stupid of me?
He then monster reborn his veiler, tribute it for a Sphere of Chaos. Its effect adds a level 3 monster to hand, which is Electric Virus. I was like:

He discard Electric virus to take control of my Geargiganto X, X attacks my Gearframe, My LP 3.5k, his Sphere attacks directly, my LP 1900. Geargiganto X, returns to me at the end phase. His Sphere cannot be destroyed by battle once. Somehow, I got passed that threat and won from there.
(I like that interesting tech with the Sphere of Chaos and Electric virus.)

Round 2 vs Calvin (Inzektors)
Game 1
I had no idea what deck he play. I got 3 backrow, he got 5.
He torrential my rabbit after it came out 2 Machanical chaser
I Divine Wrath his first card car D and Veiler his second one.
His car crashed into me. My LP: 7200.
I top draw a BLS envoy of beginning. Hit his car and direct attack him. His LP: 2800
He attempted to mind control but I solemn Judgement. My LP: 3600.
He has no cards to answer him, I won from there

(No idea what to side. Threw in a DD crow)

Game 2
He torrential 3 of my Machanical Chaser, after his LP is hit to 5100.
I warning his centipede, my LP: 6000. He reborn centipede, I torrential.
I got hit by a centipede. My LP: 4400.
I mananged to get a cyber dragon. Special summons it, I normal summon Black salvo, whose effect special summon a Machanical Chaser in defence position. Attempted a Scrap Dragon play with Machanical Chaser as a bullet to bomb. But I got stopped by warning. His LP: 3100. His Centipede, damsel and Centipede bombing is too much for me and I died. (Finally, I know what his deck is. :p )

(Sided 2 Shadow mirror)

Game 3
Mind control hits game.(after his warning, His LP 6000) Took his Level 4 centipede with my Machanical chaser to make maestroke djinn.
Hit him with both Gearframe and Maestroke, his LP 2400.
He summons Hornet, used mind control on Maestroke, whose effect flips my Gearframe to face down defence position, which makes it easy for hornet to run over.
But an X-head cannon pops out with Maestroke and I pushed from there.

Round 3 vs Junyong (Chaos Dragon) OXX
Game 1
X-head Cannon beat down till his LP 4400. Hope hits me,my LP 5.5k.
I mind control go Chaos Hope. I also call for a Fortress and win from there

(Sided 2 light mirror and a Maxx C)

Game 2
His Lyla and trooper hit me and veiled Rabbit. My LP 4700
My Fortress rapes his Trooper. His LP: 5900.
His Pulsar and Chaos wins game I was like GG

Game 3
Things are going well till his BLS comes along. No cards answer my call and I died from there.
I had a BLS in hand but no light in grave. :(

(So well, I got paired down >.<)

Round 4 vs Rong Jie (Inzektors) XX-
Game 1
Veiler hating Rabbits. His card trooper (1.9k) ran over my Rabbit. My LP 6.4k
My X-Head Cannon ran over his trooper. His LP 6600.
Died to swarm of bugs..... >>,

(Sided 2 mirrors and a Maxx C)

Game 2
Ok it is really Déjà vu. Veiler on Rabbit, Card Trooper ran over Veiler. Died to Gruff running over me.......
(this is the most epic duel ever, no cards answer my call. >.<)

(Paired down again >.<)

Round 5 vs Bixuan. (Inzektors). OO-
Edit: Supposed to be Samual but some participants decided to play on anyway despite the bad win-loss ratio.
Game 1
My Gearframe attack him 3 times his LP: 3600
His Centipede (with hornet) and Dmasel direct attacks me. My LP 4900. He xyz them to Zenmaines to block my attack. My fortress attacks his Zenmaines. My fortress is destroyed at end phase. I discard his Damsel from his hand. He solemn Judgement a card of mine, which brought his LP to 1800. Somehow or other, I used X-Head Cannon and win from there. Forgot how.

(sided 2 Shadow Mirror)

Game 2
X-Head Cannon and Machanical Chaser beatdown. His LP: 4350
He has a Hornet that did bombing, and My Machanical Chaser kills it. his Lp 3000
A Limiter on Chaser kills a Card Trooper and I go for game.

Well my deck seemed to be better than usual. This Deck match-up against Inzektors and Chaos Dragon was like............ Edit: I did not drew much of my side-deck cards. :(

End of the line

We have decided to cease playing Yugioh due to lack of players and interest. Instead, we will be considering other card games like Weiss Schwarz, Magic and Vanguard while doing more physical things like bowling, basketball, pool and other cool, fun and interactive stuff.

Also, I dislike how I keep hearing some bimbo rant about us when we're not doing anything that seems 'horrendously unacceptable in the Yugioh world'. Lol we have no time to waste time because we'd rather spend our time and money together having a good time than being 'so unfriendly'.

And no, we are not spamming your blog. You have more haters than us, Eustace. Lololololol

Edit: Odin will still be doing YGO reports.

Lorong Ah Soo Tournament WCQ 27/5/2012

Sorry about the late report, busy with exams

Decide to test out my new deck
Anyway the reports are based on how much I wrote done + Memory, it may be quite vague. Here goes

Format: 4 round Swiss cut to top 8 (I think)
Number of participants: Never count not sure. I was quite late
Deck used: Rabbit Machina Geargia
Judge: Shelton?? (Did I write his name correctly?)

Round 1 vs Bixuan (Inzektors) OXO
Game 1
He MSTed my MST
Started with a Rabbit then going into 2 Machanicalchaser = A GeargigantoX. Proceeds to add Gearframe
Attacked him twice with X
His Lp: 8K to 3400.
Not sure how my X was got rid of.
He then got 2 damsels and 1 centipede (equipped with hornet), MY LP: 8k to 3.9K
I summon Gearframe, he veiled it, but I chained torrential. Effect goes through, Added a Gearframe
I tried to finish the game by summoning 2 fortresses. But he booked one of them - His LP 3400 to 900.
I bottomless his Centipede.
He ends his turn with a zenmaines and a Centipede
I top deck a reborn. Use it on fortress and hit his centipede. A win for me

(Game 2 sided 2 Chain disappearance and 2 Mind Crush)

Game 2
He veiled my Rabbit.( I then set two back rows)
Next turn, He veiler my gearframe. (I set one more back row). I then attack, then he gave me a Malevolent Catastrophe. Blowing up my back row. Thefaq! But he still takes my attack. His LP: 8k to 6.2K
Gearframe goes on attacking. (His LP: 4400).
I forgot what he did. I ended with an X that reduced his LP to 2100.
He summons a BLS that ram into my X and BLS hits me again! MY LP: 2300
Could not deal with the BLS and I died from there.
*He removed my fortress from game

(Game 3: Put in a Morphing Jar 2 and sided out 1 Mind Crush)

Game 3
Summons a Rabbit, comes 2 vanilla X-Head Cannons then made a Geargiganto X. Effect, detach X-head cannon, adds a gearframe and sets warning ends.
His turn, out popped a card trooper which I warning. And things went downhill for him from there.
I summoned a Gearframe, intending to add fortress but he got a veiler. (I had no idea what his backrows are)
Desparate to kill. I drop a Machanicalchaser, to special summon a cannon. Removed the chaser and X-head cannon for my BLS. (In field BLS, Geargiganto X, Gearframe and a Machina Cannon)
3k + 2.3K + 1.8k + 800 = 7.9K!!
On his turn he made a zenmaines but I removed it with BLS. Used a Machina Cannon to atk. Game!

(However, despite my first win, things go down hill for me from there as you can see below)

Round 2 vs David (Chaos Dragon.) XX-
Game 1
This round is very confusing.
I started with a Geargiganto X. (Using 2 Machanicalchaser, detach Machanical Chaser and added a Black Salvo) He comes with an Atum, fly in a REDMD then SS Watt dragon. Watt kills my X, My LP: 8k to 7.8k.
My turn, I made a Black Salvo + Machanicalchaser = Blackrose play.
I drop a machine vanilla with fortress to summon fortress. David LP: 8k to 5.5k
He sets a monster and ends with some backrows (I think)
I summon gearframe, added ????. Fortress attack the set monster, and out pops a GK spy. I was like Defaq! He then special summons another Spy that my gearframe cannot run over. I then equipped Gearframe to Fortress.
(He solemn judge something alone the way, I forgot what). His LP: 2750
My turn. Special summon Gearframe. Fortress attack SPY, Gearframe attack. His LP 2750 to 950.
After that it kind of got vague.
However, I roughy remember this: He summon lightpulsar that suicide to my fortress. Since he has  no cards for fortress to bomb, he got a free plus. He summon REDMD that ran over my Gearframe. My LP: 7800 to 6800.
I warning the effect of REDMD on his next turn. MY LP: 4800
He threw in a BLS and it direct attack me. MY LP: 1800
My turn. I had a veiler in my hand, and I drew another Veiler. I decided to set a bluff by setting veiler
Apparently, he got no monster, not risking to attack my set veiler. He attempted to removed it from game. To bluff him more, I used my hand veiler to veil BLS.
My next draw gave me no answer, so on his turn he removed my set veiler, he was like "OK...."
My turn, no good draw for me, and I died from there as he reborn my own fortress to kill me!

(Game 2, threw in a Morphing Jar 2)

Game 2
I had used both Judgement and warning. My LP down to 2k, while my machanicalchaser reduced his LP to 4300. He read my morphing jar 2 play, he used bounzer. The game was quick and I died from there.

Round 3 vs Putra (Machina Gadget) XX-
Game 1
A serious misplay: Never add a Fortress with Gearframe summon.
Apparently none of my cards gave me answer. He show me the hand of fortress with cannon and etc. I just died.

(Game 2, sided a morphing jar 2, 2 Mind crush)

Game 2
A set Morphing jar 2, returns his gearframe to the deck.
He then special summons Green Gadget face-down. I summon Gearframe but he veilers it.
I ran over his Green gadget.
He summons fortress and kills my gearframe and I ate a green Gadget.
He attempted a Geargiganto X but it met with a compluse.
He ate my pro-storm that kill good many stuff, but my judgement went with the storm
From there, we go to top-decking. And his top-decking of Gearframe really drives me nuts and I died from there.
(Thanks for the mineral water drink)

Round 4 vs Ernest (Hieroglyphs) XOX
Game 1
He veiled my rabbit, made a bounzer and just kill me from there

(Game 2 sided 2 light mirror)

Game 2
A successful Rabbit, call 2 vanillas, which made a Geargiganto X. Add a Black Salvo.
He made a Bounzer (again), kill my X. (my LP, 7600)
I topped a mind-control. Made a Gaia Dragoo which hit him for 2 turns. His LP 2800.
I forgot how he kill my Gaia. He call for a REDMD.
I suicide a fortress to it. He summon hanzo that added super transformation ,which I MSTed
Two fortresses going in but he booked one of them.
Somehow or other I managed to scraped pass.

Game 3
A Transformation on my rabbit
He ends with 2 Gaia and a REDMD. I just died from there

This deck play testing was like OK......
Apparently, my deck met with lots of problem especially dealing with veilers.
Not as consistent as my Machina Gadget, but when it explodes it really hits it hard

Ps: should I take this deck for WCQ?

Cheers:

What is your reason? YGO thoughts

If someone saw you play Yu-Gi-Oh and threw you a question"Why did you play Yu-Gi-Oh?"

I seen many answers in my life.
Classical answers.

a) I saw the YGO on TV/Web, I want to play.
- This answer is usually given when Yu-Gi-Oh first came out in the year early 2000+ some still give it as their answer till now.

b) My friends all play, I want to be part of them.
- This answer is usually the type that hop on a crowd, their enthusiasim with Yu-Gi-Oh last when their friends are in it. They may occassionally quit but their passion will get fired up when they see a new community of friends playing it.
I am in this category, I am the type that got encouraged by people around me.

c) I like the strategy gaming meta in this game
-  This is usually for those who are game fanatics.

d) I want to see big boobs
- To me i think some may be honest ehough to give this answer.
With the new Mermail archetype that is a rip off from Bermuda TriangleThis will get a whole bunch of new players into the game who just want to look at boobs. So what? If they love Yu-Gi-Oh due to this. It is still a welcome aboard for them.

Notice all the answer, comes to this: It was fun and I love it.
To be honest, I don't really care if the above reasons are dumb or lame, it is a pushing point in the game when we met with challenges such as losing. It is the love of the game that keep us going.

As long as the passion of the game is there, it is half the acheivement done. Whether you made it to the competitive level or you are just a casual player is another thing.

We learn as we play.

However, I heard one answer that really makes me wonder aloud. Take note of the words in BOLD

e) I want to play this game because I KNOW I CAN be good at it.

In my opinion, this answer is really from a player who totally lost his direction/ an arrogant person
How do you know you can be good at the game when you just started it? You don't know the basic rules of the game properly so how can you be good at it? Are you saying you don't love it at all?
To be honest, if you never seen Yu-Gi-Oh in shows /web or it is not recommended by friends, I don't think you will heard of Yu-Gi-Oh. So how can YOU KNOW you can be good at it?

In my opinion, everyone started as a noob. It is the love of the game and the motivation that kept us going, bringing us to the competitive/professional level. However, do not forget how your passion for Yu-Gi-Oh was born.

So what was your reason?

That is the fruit of thought for you

Cheers

WCQ

WCQ

Well, in just a month + WCQ is coming. And my deck is done, (with some hiccups here and there).
As usual with my obession with Machine, I decided to stick to this monster deck type for a while. Gonna try it out on the next tournament.

This deck with the right cards can call out a Geargigano X in the shortest time.

However, I did not run the following cards in the deck.
a) Gadgets
b) Geargia monster (excpet for X)
c) Karakuri

I did run the following cards
a) Veilers
b) BLS !! (yes, I am fucking serious!). This deck can throw in a DAD but it is more difficult to call out.
c) Machina

Credits to Cheng Wee and a tip or two from Sebastian.

Hint: Cheng Wee just used the same concept of another top deck and apply to this new machine deck of mine.

Hieroglyph Ritua (Gishkiglyphs)

Hello everybody! I haven't posted in quite awhile and so here I am, bringing you a decklist of a deck which I've been having fun with for the past month - Gishkiglyphs! (as I call it) It is a deck with Hieroglyphs and Gishki combined together *you don't say?* to gain pluses and minus your opponent at the same time with the help of Evigishki Gustkrake, our key player.

Without further ado, the deck:-

Monsters - 25
----------------
1x Luster Dragon #2
1x Wattdragon
3x Vision Gishki
3x Gishki Abyss
3x Shadow Gishki
3x Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands
3x Hieroglyph Dragon - Shiyu Dragon
3x Hieroglyph Dragon - Tfeni-Dragon
3x Evigishki Gustkrake
2x Effect Veiler

Spells - 15
-------------
3x Preparation of Rites
3x Hieroglyph Seal of Gathering
3x Upstart Goblin
3x Gishki Aquamirror
1x Salvage
1x Heavy Storm
1x Monster Reborn

This deck is kinda similar to the infamous Wind-Up Hunter loop decks where you put your opponent at a great disadvantage turn one. Let's take a look at Evigishki Gustkrake's awesome effect:-

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned. You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Gishki" Ritual Spell Card. When this card is Ritual Summoned: Look at up to 2 random cards in your opponent's hand, and shuffle 1 of them into the Deck.

By summoning Gustkrake multiple times during your first turn, your opponent will not have much options left when their turn starts. Unlike Wind-Up Hunter, Gustkrake returns the card back to your opponents DECK, making their cards harder to obtain as many decks now might benefit from you sending them to the Graveyard. Furthermore, you get to see up to 2 cards from their hand and then CHOOSE one of them to return. With some lucksacked card picking skills, you can know your opponents entire hand by summoning 3 of these guys in 1 turn.

This was just the Gishki side of the deck. Now, by summoning Gustkrake with the Level 6 Hieroglyph dragons, you will gain an additional Level 6 vanilla to accompany him. With le awesome vanilla, you can continue your stunt by Xyz Summoning a powerful Rank 6 Xyz monster. If you have read my previous card review on "Photon Strike Bounzer", I did mention about Gishki decks being able to summon him with a Gustkrake which has already used its effect. After picking off a few of your opponents cards and having a PSB sitting on the field like a boss, your opponent has little means of a comeback.

Apart from PSB, you can also summon Number 25: Force Focus which is a huge 2800 beatstick with a somewhat limited effect negation ability, or my favorite - Constellar Ptolemys Messier 7. M7's awesome effect will help you with summoning more Gustkrakes during your turn by being able to return the tributed Hieroglyph monster to your hand. The Gishki Aquamirror's special effect will also return the Gustkrake which you detached for M7's ability. Having 3 M7s in your side deck is no surprise as you can really summon all 3 of them in a single duel. I however cannot afford 3 so I just stuck with 2 which is almost as good.

Other cards like Preparation of Rites and Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands will help you get your pieces fast to pull off the stunt. Upstart Goblin works here too as you really want the speed and this deck is not worried about your opponent having lots of LP. Salvage is just a random splash which works with the Gishki search monsters. I ran 2 Salvage once but realized they are most of a time a dead draw. You might also want to add in an Inzektor Exa-Beetle to your extra as this mini-scrap dragon might just come in handy if you did not manage to pull off much combos.

So this is pretty much summarizes what this deck does - Go first, loop your opponent's hand cards away, proceed to summon scary, high-attack Rank 6 monsters and pray that your opponent does not have Dark Hole. Go ahead and netdeck this, improve on it and have fun trolling your opponent with the awesome power of Gustkrake!

Sorry for the lack of images as I am writing this quite late in the night. I hope the links will be helpful.

Happy Vesak day and Damn you Yu-Gi-Oh

Ok, first of all, here wishing all Buddhists out there a Happy Vesak Day. Did no join 5/5/2012 Full-Yen tournament today due to Vesak Day and Group Project on Buddhism (Ironic)
Anyway back to the main point:
What Deck to play? (Key reason to why I stop going for tournaments!)

The following are the decks that I played through my life.

1) Gadgets (The 1st deck that I ever play, evolved from Ulitmate Offering Gadgets to Reshelf Ritual Gadget to my current Machina Gadget)
- Currently, unsure if I wanted to upgrade it with Geargia. Very Expensive, you know that Geargiganto X.

2) Chao lucksacking Lightsworn (Evolved from pure Lightsworn to Twilight, the time where Lyla is fucking expensive!)
- Should I depend on luck?

3) Karakuri (Imba swarm), wonder if I should throw in a Geargiganto X?

These are the following that I am considering.

1) BF.
Reason: Shura attacking and calling a Vayu gonna have more plays. We not gonna just have a Catastor for a beating. There is gonna be a grave syncro too. However, I am not sure if this card is going to help much.

Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star is gonna be real.
Coming out in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Manga Promotional Cards: Series 4‎!!
Edit; Sian. This card cannot be special summon by grave synchro

2) E-Hero? I got beaten by an E-Hero deck during ACS 2012!

3) Inzektors?. They are POWER! I am just afriad they will be hit.

4) Hieroglyph? THEY ARE POWER! However, I got same worries as Inzektors. >.<

That is my fruit of thought.......

Cheers!

Thursday 3 May 2012

I am bored.

After ACS 2012 and the recent ranking tournaments of our team. I realised 1 important thing! I had to get a life! Gadgets for like god knows how many months. To be honest, I am a bit tired of it. Need something new to get a life. Any suggestions?

- Cheers

R.I.P TCG Priority

Finally, after god knows for how long. TCG cannot prioritise their rullings.
Now this means a few lame stuff

a) No more bitch shouting of F's about TCG Priority in DN
b) Now no more Bugs Bunny's Great Escape here
c) No more BLS & Chaos Sorcerer saying "I bring you down"
d) No JD saying " Bring me down? Can! let's bring everyone down"
e) Some other decks at the top other than the one that rely on Bugs Bunny

In summary: R.I.P TCG Priority.

Edit: Talk about timing, 3 days before YCS Chicago

WDF Tournament Report 22/04/12 and We're on Stomp!

Hey peeps, just thought I'd give a little breakdown of the last tourney report we had. Also, some interesting news about Econ.

WDF Tournament Report 22/04/12

Format: Round Robin - 2 Groups

Players: 8

Group A:
- Edwin
- Jay
- Jack
- Jason

Group B
- Me
- Edward
- Eddy
- Ameen

Judge: Chieflion

===
Game 1: Gravekeeper's (Me) vs Verz (Edward)

Round 1:
He pretty much got dominated this game. Not much I can remember.

Round 2:
Gave him a Royal Tribute and dominated the game from there.

Round 3:
I had Necrovalley and searched for an Assailant. I also already did a Royal Tribute, leaving him with no monsters other than Ophion and giving me info on his hand, but that was 2 turns before. I could have summoned the Assailant, used her effect to attack and kill off Ophion since its defense is < 2000, but I just set it which turns out to be a grim mistake. Next turn he summoned another Ophion, searching for more of the Forbidden Lance Infestation cards and I got killed by it because Torrential Tribute came as my top draw.

I felt really stupid for losing the first round. Oh well, lesson learned, do not underestimate your opponent, even if he loses to you many times before.
===
Game 2: Gravekeeper's (Me) vs Psychics (Eddy)

Round 1:
He pretty much got dominated because Necrovalley was cockblocking him. He couldn't do shit against me.

Round 2: Royal Tribute on my first turn. He got owned.
===
Game 3: Gravekeeper's (Me) vs Evol (Ameen)

Round 1:
If I remember correctly, he did a first turn Laggia and set 4 backrow. My turn comes, I set Recruiter, some extra backrow plus Dark Bribe. I also had a Dark Hole on hand. His turn, he kills my recruiter, I search for a GK monster and it was probably Commandant. My turn, I draw, I activate Dark Hole, hoping that his Laggia would negate and I could activate Necrovalley but surprisingly he activates Solemn Judgment. Being a dick, I use Dark Bribe to bribe God and obliterate Laggia. From there I pretty much owned.

Round 2:
He seemed to have gained a lot of advantage against me but admitted that I could probably win him despite having a not-so-good hand. I eventually gained a field of Spy, Recruiter and Descendant while he had an open field. I suspected he had Gorz, thus my field. Initially my plan was to use my weakest monster to hit him, either prompting him to summon Gorz and so I can kill the token, or to hit him with my strongest and then bombard Gorz and token. I stick with the latter plan and left Descendant on the field. Then he activated Pot of Avarice but it didn't save him very much.
===
Game 4: Gravekeeper's (Me) vs Inzector (Jason)

As always, I see Jason competing against me for the position of first place. Before the duel, I made an agreement with him to share 8 packs equally regardless of the outcome of the duel such that we were playing to determine the more skilled player.

Round 1: I don't exactly remember what happened but if I remember correctly, he played stall tactics while accumulating a lot of cards and then on my turn, I activated Royal Tribute, dropping his entire hand. You can guess what happens after that.

IIRC I sided in an extra Sin Stardust and Prohibition. He was the ONLY opponent I sided against, incase you guys haven't noticed before.

Round 2:  He had set a monster and a bunch of backrow and ended his turn. I summoned Sin Stardust Dragon but he just killed it off somehow. Then summoned Damsel to which I activated Torrential Tribute to destroy it and the set monster. It was Ryko. Damn, I'm lucky. Next, he set another monster and we kept exchanging turns. I was suspicious as to why the monster never flipped out. I summoned Descendant to attack the thing and it turns out to be a Snowman Eater. I couldn't do much after that but my backrow pretty much held in. He then summoned a Damsel, I was tempted to activate Warning but I just left it. Then, he Xyz Summoned Zenmaines with Snowman Eater but I just activated Warning. He got pissed as his losing streak just got worse.
===
For fun, I prompted a 'Challenge the Champion' event to which Chieflion challenges me. I got owned by Inzektors. Lolololololol.

Fun day is fun, I opened 4 packs, got nothing but Book of Spells/Magical cards but Jason was a good sport and gave me a Hieron. Also, I practically had a 'No Xyz Summon Bonus' but I did synchro for a Hyper Librarian with Effect Veiler as part of a greater plan.

If I you all haven't noticed before, I had been constantly winning 1st place in all of our group tourneys (except that last one that ended with a 3-way win). Weird trend isn't it? Its either its my best deck I can play or its that everyone has a hard time against my deck. Its still unusually to me but I believe that I Gravekeeper's played right can go a long way despite their simplicity, beating the meta.

Oh yeah, before I forget, some dumb bitch is complaining that her son is wasting his time and money on playing card games and guess what, she took pictures of Econ!

Our Almighty Hall of Scrubbing, before the last tourney.

That is all folks. I hope you've been entertained once more, stay tuned, I believe we'll be having another tourney next Sunday and maybe I'll even enter the Econ Saturday Tourney.

WDF 4th Ranking Tourney Report + Introduction

Hi, I'm Jason, and its my first time blogging here and hope to entertain the viewers as much as possible, lol. So trying my best to contribute to this blog and share some of my experiences of YGO.

So some background info of myself in terms of YGO....
I started late December last year, and happen to get together with this bunch of friends and joined this group. So basically, I'm a 4 month-old YGO player. I start off playing Dark World, and it has been my favourite deck till now. In the midst, I've tried playing Karakuri, but it just doesn't suits me, and i didn't really like it. As for now, i'm playing inzectors, and is still trying to get the best build or the build i'm most comfortable with.

Alright, on to the tourney report ~

Members: 8
Format: Group Round Robin and off into Finals
Deck Used: Inzecters

We are separated into 2 groups, and having round robin with the group, and the winner of each group will go into finals, which is somewhat similar to the Asia Championship 2012 where Jeff took the title once more.

Match 1: VS Jack (Chaos Dragon) OO-

Game 1: Had one of the most passive hand in the deck which consist of 1 CED, 1 Warning, 1 TT, 1 POD, 1 Gruf. He started first and summon REDMD and ended. My next draw was a Hornet (lol). After that, i activate POD to grab a Giga-Mantis, which eventually help me won the game. I set all the traps in my hand and ended. On his turn, he summon a monster and i just flush, and he ended without doing anything. Next turn i drew a monster reborn, and i just ended, thinking that i will lose this game. Next, he used trade in to drop Blue-eyes WD and drew 2, he summon a dragon, whack and ended, in his end phase, i CED his monster away, and i drew a card. I summoned a hornet, equip it with a gruf and mantis and just give a direct hit. Next turn was also stagnant and i eventually won by reborning his Blue eyes and my hornet with 2900 att for game.

Game 2: Shit hand again. once more, i won by reborning his 3k beatstick, lol. (I'm such a jerk)

Match 2: VS Edwin (Hieroglyphs) OXO

Game 1: Standard inzecter stunts and baiting of traps and veilers won this game.

Game 2: Very bad hand. Full of spells, traps and veilers. He summoned Koa'ki Meiru Drago and bring my lifepoints to <1000. When I was about to make a comeback via a Damsel, he warned it.  He knew that i potted for a Maxx C and didn't do any stunts until my lifepoints was low enough that no Gorz or trag could help. After that he tried to OTK under Maxx C but i didn't drew anything to stop his stunts. (TRAG WHERE ARE YOU?!). So i just died from there.

Game 3: The most exciting game in the entire tourney. I opened with 1 damsel, 1 hornet, 1 snowman, 1 giga-mantis, and 1 torrential. i started first and drew a judgment. i set the judgment and torrential, and the snowman eater and ended. Next turn, he msted one of my cards and heavy storm my backrow (he's afraid there'll be a starlight road). After which, he sp-ed a tefeni, followed my shu, and he went uphill from there as he knew i had no maxx c. His end product was a Gustaph Max, 2 Gaia Dragoon, Wattdragon. He activated Gustaph Max eff with my lps at 6k. and he attacked my facedown snowman, with a piercing eff of 700. and i used snowman eater's eff to destroy Gustaph Max, and ate 2 direct attacks.

8000-2000-700-2600-2500 = 200 (I SURVIVED!)

Snowman eater was the MVP here. He set one a ended. after which i drew a monster reborn (yay!).So i normal damsel. and he flush, (hm, misplayed right there). And i reborn my damsel, did my hornet + mantis stunt, and end product was a revise dragon, and zenmaines. Next turn, he had nothing left, and i just pot for a CED, whack and ended. When he could recover, i already had a compuls face down and he couldn't do much from there and scooped.

Match 3: Yoong Kang (Machina Gadget) OXO

Game 1: CARD CAR D BEATDOWN! as he only had spells and traps and his only gadget got veilered.

Game 2: His mind crush and many good stuffs killed me. And once again, i hate to see the limiter removal winning games, lol.

Game 3: Trap stun won the game!

Finals: Hakim (Gravekeepers) XX-
We decided to share but just play the game for the points, lol.

Game 1: Royal tribute kills

Game 2: Snowman eater and BTH did their job there and i manage to destroy all his 3 Necrovalleys. But all my resources are gone, and i couldn't clear his backrow and lost from there.

Got a HC Excalibur from my prize packs and yeah, this is my first post on this blog!

Have fun!
Jason

WDF Tournament Report #4 22/4/2012

A week later after the Asia Championships 2012, we are back to our training on duelling. As the saying goes "Pratice makes Perfect" so why not? I was half dead on that day with serious stomach flu and meeting troll docters with the "you don't say!" However, since there are only 7 people playing, I might as well join to complete an 8. As usual, the tournament report is based on rough paper sketching and recording of end lifepoints so it is a bit vague. Well, here goes.

Format: a successful 2 group round robin. (I am in group A)

Number of Participants: a nice 8

Deck used: Machina Gadget
Judge: Cheng Wee

Round 1 vs Edwin (Hieroglyphs) OXX

Game 1
Edwin sets a card and he ends.
I summon a Red gadget and attack, reduces his LP to 6700
On my next turn, I summon a gearframe and add a fortress to my hand. I then attack with both Red and Gearframe. However, he booked my Gearframe.
On his turn, he summons Atums but it got veiled by my veiler so Atums got overlayed to a Gaia dragoon that pierces my Gearframe. Not sure what happens next. I remember him dropping Gorz in me when I direct attack him with a yellow, reducing his LP to 1500. And I had to waste 2 Fortress to get rid of a Gorz and a Gaia dragoon. The game ended when I top-deck a gearframe and push the game from there.

(Game 2. Sided a morphing jar 2, 2 light imprisoning mirror and a Snowman eater)

Game 2
The situation changed when Edwin Raigeki Break my set Morphing Jar 2
The game ends with him having perfect LP. With no veilers and my side of Light-imprisoning mirror, got hit by a Gaia Dragoon on a set gearframe and got hit by a wattdragon. Got pretty jacked from there.

Game 3
Edwin goes heavy on me when he got 1600 LP left. Gathering enough resources he does all the loop. Ended with a Super Dreadnought Cannon Express Gustaph Max (that deal me a 2k LP direct damage by detaching a xyz material) and some other cards which I forgot. However, I survived the onslaught. On my turn, I mind control his Super Dreadnought Cannon Express Gustaph Max, I attempted to use Super Dreadnought Cannon Express Gustaph Max's to reduce Edwin's LP to zero. However, I got hit by a veiler. So pretty jacked from there and I lost.

Round 2 vs Jack (Chaos Dragons) OO-

Game 1
Had a decent hand, started things out with aggressive attack. Jack had a Dragon Ravine set up, dumping strong dragons to grave. Gearframe attacks his Magna Drago and reduces his LP to 7600. His Red Eyes Darkness Metal dragon got veiled, he attempted to run my gearframe over. However, I limiter removal my Gearframe, reducing his LP to 6800. On my turn, summon a green gadget, add a red gadget. Green gadget attacks and reduce his LP to 5400.Apparently, he ran short of resources to defend. On my turn, both Red and Yellow attack him reduces his LP to 2700. I then xyz them to summon a Maestroke the Symphony Djinn. If I remember correctly, I solemn judge a card of his and it halves my 8K LP to a 4K LP. I think it is a summon. On my turn, I summon a yellow gadget. Both Maestroke the Symphony Djinn and yellow gadget attack. Hit the game for me.

(Game 2. Sided  2 mindcrush and a Morphing Jar 2)

Game 2
I remember part of my opening hand. (1 Gearframe, 1 Fortress , 1 green gadget, 1 yellow gadget, plus a mind control).
*I forgot whether he had a Dragon Ravine
I summon a Gearframe, added a Fortress to my hand (I had two fortress in my hand now). I attack with my Gearframe, reduces his LP to 6200. He summons a Dragon, removes it from play for a Red Eyes Darkness Metal dragon. It kills my Gearframe, reducing my LP to 7000. He then sets a card. On my turn, I summon a green Gadget, he let it pass. I added a red gadget to my hand. I then discard a Red gadget and a Fortress to the grave, special summons Fortress from the graveyard. However, He solemn judge to negate the summoning of my Fortress. This result in his LP being reduces to 3100. My hand had a yellow gadget, a fortress and a mind control, while he only has a Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon on the field. Basically, I mind control his Red eyes darkness metal dragon to move it out of the way, special summon fortress by dumping itself and yellow gadget to the grave. Hit the game for me.

Round 3 vs Jason (inzektors) A revenge match?? XOX

Game 1
Drew a bad hand! All greens + purples. No gadget in sight. Got 1 veiler though. Set 5 backrow and ends. He summon card car D which I veiler it. From then on, he used his car to attack me for 4 turns! My LP: 4800.
At last, I drew a green gadget. I summon it but Jason veils it, but I decided to compluse my green gadget so that the effect will go through. His card attacks me again. I forgot how his car was got rid of. The car was only gone when my LP was at 3200. His Raigeki Break destroy my set torrential, (he discard an Inzektor Gruf). He solemn warning my monster summon (forgot what it was), reducing my LP to 6000. I attack him with Fortress, reducing his LP to 3500. He normal summons an Inzektor damsel but I negate with solemn judgement, My LP: 1600. On my turn, I summon a red gadget. My Red Gadget attacks. Jason's LP: 2200. When my fortress attacks, he compluse it. On his turn, he summons an Inzektor Gruf and equipped an Inzektor Gruf from the grave. (Atk = 1000). He then equips an Inzektor Giga-Mantis to Gruff. (Atk = 2900). Gruff attacks Red gadget (Difference in attack 2900 - 1300 = 1600 = My LP, no more and no less)

(Game 2: Sided 2 mindcrush and 2 Shadow imprisoning Mirror)

Game 2
I set a few cards and ends. (Got a mind crush, watch out pot of duality)
His Damsel got veiled but he direct attacks with it. My LP: 7000. He sets a few cards and ends
I summon a green gadget and attack his Damsel. Jason's LP: 7600
After that, I am very cautious, kept poking him with green till his LP was at 2k. I mindcrucsh, when he POD out a centipede. At LP of 2k, I just limiter removal my green to win from there.

Game 3:
Maestroke the Symphony Djinn got complused!
His trap stun hit the game for him. Damsel and centipede got free food to bomb. He then xyz summons Wind-Up Zenmaines to block, so basically got pretty jacked from there.

I got lucky draw prize. However there is not much good stuff except for a Fairy King Alverd.

As usual, Hakim got first and Jason hit second. Nice one.

Cheers

Asia Championship 2012 Tournament Report. 15/4/2012

Purpose: Try my best, and most importantly get that mat!
Edit: We met up quite early as instructed by "someone" but it turns out that "someone" was late. No name calling here. We forgive you. Take bus 190, and we arrived on time. (Lucky)

Pardon me if details are vague, posting my points mostly off small untidy handwriting and LP taking which I wrote in pencil and paper. And due to time-constraint, I did not really record much.
On with the report

Format: Single Eli
Number of Participants: 120+
Deck Used: Machina Gadget.

(Ironically: Despite more than 1/2 of the participants playing Inzektors and Hieratic, I did not meet a single one! (Lucky)
Yee Shean won the 1st round despite using a nonsense deck made up of spare cards. (Luck FTW))

Round 1 vs Leon (BF) OXO
Game 1: Leon warning my monster (I forget whether if it is a gadget or a gearframe) bring his LP to 6k, His Shura rammed into my green gadget and he bring out a vayu to direct attack me, bringing my LP to 6800. He synchro summon to A.O.J catastor. I fiendish chain his A.O.J when he tried to attack. I then bring out Hope to kill the chained A.O.J. I forgot how he get rid of my Hope but he had nothing so he end his turn. At the near end of game Leon LP was at 2850 while I am at 3400. (I forgot what we both use solemn judgement for). He Monster Reborn his A.O.J Catastor and reduce my LP to 1200. I get rid of his monster with smashing ground. I summon a yellow and attack reduces his LP to 1650. On his turn, I think he did not top draw a monster. So I just attack with yellow and use limiter removal at the damage step.

(At Game 2, I sided in a morphing Jar 2 and 2 shadow imprisoning mirror)

Game 2: His Shura attack my set Morphing Jar 2. And my Morphing jar 2 sends it back to deck. in the milling process, mills a Icarus Attack plus other cards and a SKILL DRAIN! (I am really a son of a lucky bitch!). However, I died to a D.A.D

Game 3: He rammed into my set Morphing Jar 2 (Again!). After milling 1 card, He milled a Blizzard. Both of us were unsure whether it can be special summon face-down. So we called for a Judge. Turns out the Judge was unsure too so He went up to the Head-Judge (I think) to confirm the effect. The Judge then came back to us telling use Blizzard is sent to graveyard and no more milling is needed.
On my turn I summoned my Gearframe and attack Leon, reducing his LP to 6800.
On his turn, he summoned a Bora, I intended to torrential but I choose not to. He special summons a Gale. I then activate torrential. He did not draw monster so Gadget beatdown and he scoop. (Somewhere around here we hit into time I think)

Round 2 vs Ryan (Evol) OO-

Game 1: I compluse his Evolsaur Diplo when it tried to attack my Red gadget.
On my turn I summon a yellow and Gadget beatdown. His LP 5500, I xyz summon to Maestroke the Symphony Djinn.Next turn summon a Gearframe, search for a Fortress. I attack Ryan with both Djinn and Gearframe reducing his LP to 1900. Only remember I got a Maestroke the Symphony Djinn, Hope and a Machina Fortress at the end of the game. I remember that I thought his facedownb set monster is a westlo but it turns out to be a Diplo lolz.

(Game 2 sided a morphing jar 2, a nobleman of crossout and a snowman eater)

Game 2:
Ryan starts; he sets a monster and end. (I suspect a westlo)
(Had a mind control in my hand), Drew a snowman and I set it, set a Phoenix Wind Wing blast and a bottomless. On his turn, He Heavy Storm! I let it pass. He Flip a westlo! (I knew it!). And he special summon an Evolsaur Elias. With Evolsaur Elias's effect, he special summons an Evolsaur Terias. He overlay Elias and Terias to xyz summon Photon Streak Bouncer. He then normal summons an Evolitle Casinerio that can summon 2 level 6 or lower Fire type dinosaur monsters with the same name,by tributing itself whn it destroys a monster by battle.

He enters battle phase, used Cassinerio to attack my Snowman Eater. He took 300 recoil damage, but his photon Bouncer negates my snowman's effect and I took 1000 damage. His bouncer destroy my snowman and his westlo direct attacks. My Lp 6300, his LP 7700.

My turn, I used a mind control on his bouncer and go for a gaia dragoo and I control the game from there.

Round 3 vs Galvin (BubbleBeat) OXX

Game 1: Limiter Removal wins the game for me.

(Game 2 ;sided a mind crush and a Morphing Jar 2)

Game 2: Mind crush his card when he used Emergency Call. My hope got snowed. At the last turn, I got a set Bottomless. He top deck a Bubbleman and he attacks me reducing my LP to 1050, he then activates his set Mask Change, bringing out Masked Hero Acid. I chained bottomless trap hole! (Yes!). However, he activate his second set mask change to summon masked Hero Vapor (WTF!), and I died from there.

(Game 3; throw in one more snowman eater)

We hit into time and pass four turns so first blood wins. His Hero-Blast blew up my snowman eater. I had mind crush him and I saw a Monster Reborn and a Pot of duality. I had only a set MST. Even though both of our LP is at 8k. once he hit me I lose. So I just scoop as He can monster reborn his Bubbleman that is in the grave.

(However, Wesley told me I should not just scoop as Galvin may be cautious against me due to the set card I got and use Pot of duality instead, and I may win).

So I got kick out in the 3rd round.

I am really lucky that day. I got game mats, dice more boosters and tournament packs that open decent cards. Not back for a scrub like me. My 90% no skill and 10% luck.

Credits to Ghakimx
:For advising me to put in a Morphing Jar 2 for my side-deck. Cuz without it, I may not be able to reach the 3rd round. Jason and Eddy did quite well too.

Cheers.

WDF Tournament Report #3, 8/4/2012

Hello, from now on call me Odin Kaiserchronik Kitaras in this blog. Needless to say I had been too busy with camps to write reports *ahem *coughs and I decided to remove 2 Chain D from main.
Ok on with the report.

Format: A epic fail round-robin. (lol?)

Number of Participants: Epic fail of 6 (lol?)

Deck Used: Machina Gadget

Judge: Not so strict Ameen (lol?)

Round 1 vs Thomas (Six Sam) XOX

Game 1:
Thomas had a Shi-en and a 2 (I think) Backrows. With a very bad hand of a lone fortress in my hand, I was pretty jacked so I mst twice which he negates 1.of them. I then smashing ground his Shi-En. I then tried to Bring Shi-En to my side by using monster reborn but he chained a Call of the Haunted to it to bring Shi-en back. Wasting resources with not much change in Thomas's field, I knew all was gone. On his next turn, Blade Heart and Shi-En attack me. My next draw yields nothing and I just scoop.

Game 2:
I had a strong control. Thomas wasted a warning on my fortress which I brought back with my cannon. My Fortress ram over his Grandmaster. Fortress hit his LP till 600 and I just push the game from there.

Game 3:
A strong control from Thomas (Gates!), ends with a Hope, Blade Heart and some other Six Sam. With a bad hand. I just scoop when my LP drops to 700 and my next draw yields nothing.

Round 2 vs Cheng Wee (Chaos Piper) OXO

Game 1:
Cheng Wee took many hits from Red gadget. Not sure how I push a game from there. I only remember some piper shit here and there.

Game 2:
Some yellow gadget ramming going on, He got rid of my yellow and kept using a Grand mole to attack me. I had a dark hole in my hand but at that time with plentiful of LP, I felt it was a waste. It was a fatal mistake. When I finally decided to dark hole it, I was done to 2300LP and I just died from there.

Game 3:
Forgot what is going on. Wind-Up Zenmaister  and fortress on the field on the field hit his LP till 500. He tried to mindfuck me. He summon Chaos Soc to remove my fortress, I then discard one card in his hand. If I had discard Caius, I may die as he had a 2nd Chaos Soc with no dark in his grave. However, I see Chaos Soc as a bigger threat so I discard that instead, upon seeing that, Cheng Wee just scoop.

Round 3 vs Hakim (Gravekeepers!) OXX

Game 1:
Fortress hit the game for me, it brought his LP to 5500 and I not sure what did he Solemn Judge and my fortress just ram over his LP 2250

Game 2:
A descendent and Guard (atk upz by necrovalley) reduced my LP to 4500. Tried to kill him with 2 fortress and a gadget but mirror force got in the way. (You just activated my Trap Card) I got killed by a Sin Cyber End.

Game 3:
His Sin Cyber end runs over a Green Gadget. My LP becomes 5400. Got rid of his cyber end but his recruiter hit me till my LP drop to 500. I solemn judge ??, He summoned a descendent and killed my remaining 250LP

Round 4 vs Edward (Verz) OO-

Game 1:
Mind Control his monster, Go for a Hope and punch. His LP 5500
Ends the game with a Hope, fortress and a gadget

Game 2:
Verz Ophion got veiled. I got rid of it. Not sure how I push from there.

Round 5 vs Jason (Inzektors) OXO

Game 1:
Red and a Gearframe reduec his LP to 4900
Symphony Djinn + Fortress + Green Gadget = push game

Game 2:
Starts with 2 Red Gadget in my hand. Red direct attack jason and then battles with Centipede for two consecutive turns.
Ends with:
My LP: 7400
His LP: 5400 (My Fortress killed his centipede)
He Electric Virus my Fortress
My LP: 4900
Veiler got prohibit, got jacked from there.

Game 3:
He prohibits my fortress.
I am forced to use Gearframe to add fortress in hope of a mst. Both Gearframe and Red Gadget reduced his LP to 4900. Used Phoenix wind blast to drop fortress to top deck his other card. (not Prohibition).
He get rid of his own Prohibition to reborn my fortress which I reacted with bottomless.
Symphony Djinn, Hope and a Gadget push for game from there.

It is quite a long report. I had being using pen and paper to calculate LP.

I don't get it

I don't know why I'm doing this lol
"Take this with a pinch of salt, your blog post did not go well. You are good enough player to not to have face that sort of shit. Distance yourself from KFC in front of the community if you are going ASC, you will not like the attention. You can ignore this for all I care. I lost every ounce of respect for you the moment you continued to whine bitch talk about that Salvage."
I don't know why I'm getting a text from over-reactive Eustace but it seems like someone dislikes what I do in tournaments. I don't get why you'd want to make a big issue over Salvage until today. I mean, I was playing Gishkis that time and I knew it was inconsistent as hell, thus I wouldn't make it far in the tourney. Maybe its my own fault for playing such a deck but why bitch up till now? Beats me.

Now it seems as though Eustace dislikes how Chieflion judged the tourney for 24/03/11. How could you be pissed off over this? If you are absent for it and Uncle still wants to run a tourney but still requires a judge, of course you'll be replaced for the day! In the end, being the judge is voluntary and by the end of the day, if everyone feels the judge has done his job, then everyone's happy! Allow me to give you a brief idea of that day's tourney.

Players: 8
- Hakim (Final Countdown)
- Edwin (Lightlords)
- Wesley (Inzecters)
- Zhi (Six Samurais)
- Jason (Inzecters)
- Edward (Verz)
- 2 other players (Infernity and Karakuri)

Format: Single Elimination

Judge: Chieflion

Winners:
1st - Wesley
2nd - Hakim
3rd - Edwin

So do we really have a problem here? Even though 75% of the tourney was held by our group, it doesn't mean that we have higher advantage. The only advantage even I seemed to have was that I was playing a troll deck, ala Final Countdown. Wesley still won either way. Why would you be pissed? Its Single Elimination, man.

Now let's discuss about the tournament on Sunday, which Eustace seems to have problems with. I'll just highlight a few things here and there.

WDF 1st Ranking Tournament

Players: 8
- Me (Gravekeepers)
- Edwin (Graveyard Blackfeather)
- Bailiang (Inzector)
- Jay Wong (Machina Gadgets)
- Jason (Inzector)
- Ameen (Evols)
- Xiangyu (Chaos Piper)
- Eddy (Skill Drain Machinatown)

Format: Swiss

Judge: Chieflion

Results:
1st - Me
2nd - Jason
3rd - Edwin

So what's the problem? We ask Uncle for permission, we set up the tables and chairs, we pay $5 for entry and our own prize. Everything is done within Uncle's compliance with our own rules and format without any bias. I don't see the problem.
I heard some of you guys dislike how I play troll decks. I apologize if I ever offended any of you. My purpose in playing those decks is purely for fun and laughter. Playing with skill is what it takes to win and I believe we all know that.

Oh before I forget, we are all still going ASC'12. The prize is too good to pass up.
